Arrow X1 Wins At The Florida Winter
Tour … Again!
After an enormously successful start of the 2009 Florida Winter Tour, which saw the
Arrow X1 set the fastest lap times throughout race 1 of the Rotax Max Senior field
and emphatically win both the pre-final and the final of race 2, it was an Arrow
Racing Kart once again setting the pace, this time in the Formula Kart weekend of
the tour.
Arrow driver Edward Joshua Fortier was understandably impressed with his new X1
after a highly encouraging start to his 2009 racing season. Fortier was extremely fast
from the outset, winning the pre final and enjoying a pleasing podium finish in the
race 1 final of the TaG Senior class. It was however the Puerto Rican’s showing in
race 2 that forced all in attendance to take notice. Starting from P3 in the final
aboard his new Arrow X1, Fortier methodically disposed of the rest of the TaG
Senior field to record a resounding victory in what was arguably the day’s main
event. The impressive results have established a solid foundation for Fortier and the
X1 to enjoy a hugely successful 2009 campaign.
It was another successful weekend in the USA for the emerging Arrow brand with a
number of Arrow drivers enjoying solid performances throughout the weekend,
highlighted by young Team Arrow USA member CJ Cronis. Cronis was a picture of
consistency in the TaG Junior class, narrowly missing out on a podium finish in the
final of race one after starting on P6, Cronis battled hard all race to eventually finish
4 th respectively. In race 2 Cronis was out to go one better and earn a well deserved
podium place, after finishing 5 th in the pre-final the young Arrow driver recorded an
unfortunate DNS in the final robbing him of his chance. It was a disappointing finish
to an otherwise impressive weekend for Cronis, who will no doubt be featuring on a
number of podiums throughout 2009. Special mention must go to French Arrow
driver, Luca Forgeois who showed why he is considered a serious driving talent, with
a solid 12 th place finish in the final of race two.
Tate Holleran continued the positive results for Arrow Racing Karts in the Junior
ranks, as the up and coming Arrow driver was never outside of the final top ten in
the Comer Cadet class of the tour. Holleran recovered from a DNS in the pre-final of
race one to work his way back into the top 10 as the final chequered flag was waved
and was equally determined in race two to ensure another top 10 placing in the final.
The initial performances of the new Arrow X1 continue to be a huge talking point
worldwide. The Arrow X1 has won almost every event the Kart has been entered in,
including an Australian National Championship finishing 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd in the final of
Rotax Light and now an impressive double sweep in the early rounds of the WKA
Manufacturers Cup Series in Daytona Beach, USA and victories in the opening rounds
of both the Rotax and Formula Kart weekends of the Florida Winter Tour, USA.
Arrow Racing Karts would like to thank all those who contributed to the fantastic
results during the early stages of the 2009 racing season and we look forward to
continuing the success throughout the course of the year. For more information
