The new Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress Digital Pr<strong>in</strong>t<br />

Centre was opened by Count Faber-Castell - a<br />

Sydney-based partner <strong>in</strong> the rapidly grow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess. Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress director, James<br />

Bennett, said the new Pr<strong>in</strong>t Centre represents<br />

a multi-million dollar <strong><strong>in</strong>vestment</strong>.<br />

Demand<strong>in</strong>g digital<br />

Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress has experienced a 300 per<br />

cent <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> demand for digital pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g<br />

over the past 12 months. New <strong>Fuji</strong> <strong>Xerox</strong><br />

technology, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a DocuPr<strong>in</strong>t highlight<br />

colour pr<strong>in</strong>ter and the first DocuTech 180 laser<br />

pr<strong>in</strong>ter (the fastest <strong>in</strong> the current market), has<br />

helped Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress secure significant<br />

contracts with national blue chip clients.<br />

Fellow director, Steve Dougherty, said clients,<br />

both large and small, are loo<strong>k<strong>in</strong>g</strong> for IT based<br />

solutions to their pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g requirements. To<br />

achieve this the Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress Digital Pr<strong>in</strong>t<br />

Centre is utilis<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Fuji</strong> <strong>Xerox</strong> DigiPath<br />

workflow technology.<br />

“Our team of network analysts customise<br />

software programs to make it easier for<br />

clients to send their work electronically and<br />

have it transferred straight to a digital press<br />

for pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g,” Mr Dougherty said.<br />

“<strong>Brisbane</strong> companies like the convenience<br />

and the speed of the new technology and that<br />

is certa<strong>in</strong>ly reflected <strong>in</strong> the high demand for<br />

our digital services.”<br />

He added that the bus<strong>in</strong>ess also <strong>in</strong>tended to<br />

grow its variable pr<strong>in</strong>t bus<strong>in</strong>ess us<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

<strong>Xerox</strong> technology <strong>in</strong>stalled.<br />

“Traditionally variable data had been handled<br />

by mail<strong>in</strong>g houses. Now we can offer the base<br />

shell pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g, as well as variable data and<br />

mail<strong>in</strong>g. It is a case of gett<strong>in</strong>g to know your<br />

client’s needs and suggest<strong>in</strong>g ways of us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

effective variable pr<strong>in</strong>t market<strong>in</strong>g”<br />

Mr Dougherty added that the Centre is<br />

positioned to offer the complete pr<strong>in</strong>t solution:<br />

“We have graphic designers, IT experience,<br />

web design, mail<strong>in</strong>g, and both offset and<br />

digital pr<strong>in</strong>t.”<br />

Copy Pr<strong>in</strong>t Xpress started more than three<br />

years ago with just two employees. Today the<br />
