A Day at the Races

Reena Foundation has joined
the list of very successful
sequels for the summer of
2003! On May 30, 2003, Reena staged
its second annual Day at the Races
— The Sandy Hawley Invitational — at
the Woodbine Race Track. The afternoon
consisted of a buffet lunch, a
prize draw and a speech by legendary
jockey Sandy Hawley, interspersed
with races that were generously sponsored
by a number of donors.
A talented organizing committee,
headed by Lorne Weiss, and
co-chaired by Allen Abbott and Jay
Strasser, ensured that the event was a
huge success. More than 100 people,
including a number of Reena clients,
enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at
the racetrack. Special thanks to our
