Areas of Specialization<br />
Bionomics and control of riceland mosquitoes and black flies, optimizing non-chemical approaches to<br />
IPM; dog heartworm abundance and distribution, and effects of ivermectin on canines as well as<br />
mosquitoes; ecological studies refining distribution, migration and management of Anopheles mosquitoes.<br />
A primary focus will be the continued evaluation of new and promising chemical and non-chemical<br />
larvicides and adulticides for mosquito management. Techniques for improved application of adulticides<br />
will be studied in cooperation with scientists with the US Navy.<br />

I currently teach Instruction to Applied Entomology (ENTO 3013) (fall), Insects and People (ENTO<br />
1023) (spring) and Insects and People Laboratory (ENTO 1031) (spring). Formerly, I was coordinator for<br />
Pest Management (AGRI 2003), taught Advanced Applied Entomology (ENTO 4133), ENTO 6071<br />
Seminar and a 5000 level course on Medical and Livestock Entomology taught as special topic. I am a<br />
Charter Member of the <strong>University</strong> Teaching Academy. I am a member of the Teaching and Support<br />
Center advisory board and Committee for Freshman Scholars Seminar. I have served as major advisor for<br />
20 M.S. and 7 Ph.D students.<br />
