With over 30 years’ experience in the education of Beauty and Holistic therapists, CIBTAC
is a leading awarding body with internationally recognised qualifications. With over 200
Centres in 22 countries, we pride ourselves on training therapists to the highest standards
in the skills that the industry demands. CIBTAC qualifications are highly regarded
and recognised by industry professionals and employers globally and we’re the only
examination board that develops its own courses to ensure our qualified therapists are
fully salon-ready.
We couldn’t offer these qualifications without our network of excellent Centres as you are
central to the quality education of therapists worldwide. Each Centre has a responsibility
to its Candidates to ensure that it is offering the highest standards and CIBTAC will guide
and support you through establishing your qualification portfolio. You’ll benefit from a
named Examination Coordinator who will manage your exam schedules, paperwork and
Examiner visits. The Examiner, in turn, will help you to deliver results-focused CIBTAC
accredited courses, allowing you to focus on teaching - and will also come out to your
Centre to independently examine your Candidates.
All of this, combined with helpful marketing and promotion advice, will help your Centre to
attract more Candidates.

About us
The Confederation of International Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (CIBTAC) is a
leading awarding body, proud of our international recognition for producing Graduates
of the highest calibre. Established in 1977 as the education arm of BABTAC (the British
Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology), we are a not-for-profit organisation,
continually reinvesting our income for the benefit of our accredited Centres and their
Candidates. Our desire is both to improve the quality of Graduates entering the sector, as
well as to standardise the education within the industry. Since our establishment, we have
grown to include a wide portfolio of courses, with spa, wellbeing, diet and nutrition, sports
therapy and other complementary and holistic therapy qualifications.
Each of our courses is developed through close relationships with Government Agencies
and global employers, ensuring they are tailored to the needs of the international industry.
Many of our Centres have been with CIBTAC for over 30 years and their qualifying
Graduates are sought after by first-rate employers because they are both educated to a
high level and have practical experience. Challenging, but highly attainable, our courses
are designed to support Candidates through their training, enabling them to fulfil their
goals and progress in their careers.
We pride ourselves on a personalised service, so whether it’s a quick question or an
entirely new qualification you’d like to offer, your Examination Coordinator will manage
this with you via email or phone, every step of the way.

Meet your team
We pride ourselves on a personalised, transparent service; this means that when you
become a CIBTAC Centre you are given a named Examination Coordinator who will
answer all of your questions, provide and check your paperwork, organise examinations
and Examiner visits and help with any other aspects your Centre requires. Available via
email or phone, our Examination Coordinators are experts in the culture of their countries.

How CIBTAC supports you
As therapists themselves, your Tutors know the importance of practical teaching
alongside the theory. CIBTAC qualifications are unique in that they encompass the
practical aspects, increasing confidence in your Candidates, allowing real life interaction
with clients and ensuring unquestionable ability to carry out treatments.
CIBTAC is proud of the relationships we build with Tutors. Regular interaction with
your named Examination Coordinator ensures individual attention and personal replies,
either via email or on the phone. This, coupled with comprehensive course materials
and an online facility where you can register your Candidates for modules and exams,
all help in the delivery of quality, sought-after courses.
Our flexible courses mean that your Tutors can work with your Candidates to provide
a tailored programme for their qualification requirements. CIBTAC has worked with
hundreds of Tutors worldwide to make the most important job, teaching, as easy
and enjoyable as possible. 9

Step by step application process
Becoming a CIBTAC Centre is simple and your
dedicated Examination Coordinator will help you complete the process
Complete the CIBTAC Centre application form
Send to the CIBTAC office with the required appendices and
payment of £250 and wait for the relevant Examination Coordinator to
acknowledge receipt of your application via email
Your application will be processed within 14 days
Once your application has been processed your dedicated Examination
Coordinator will contact you via email with any alterations or additions
that are required. You have 30 days to update your application and resubmit
Applications not updated and resubmitted
within 30 days are closed. Should you wish to
reapply for accreditation after this time you
would be required to start the application
process again. The £250 administration fee
already processed is non-refundable
Applications updated and resubmitted
within the 30 days will be checked
again by your dedicated Examination
Coordinator and by the Education Officer
for approval
CIBTAC organises a Centre accreditation visit
Once your paper application has been approved by the CIBTAC office, an
accreditation visit will be organised for your Centre on receipt of the remaining
£750 accreditation fee. This consists of a CIBTAC representative inspecting your
premises at a mutually convenient time. These visits generally coincide with an
examination schedule taking place in your country at that time
If accreditation is denied by the CIBTAC
representative, a report is filed and advice
will be given on how to become CIBTAC
compliant. The Centre would be required to
start the application process again. The
£1000 administration fee already processed
is non-refundable
If accreditation is confirmed by the CIBTAC
representative, a report is filed and your
dedicated Examination Coordinator will
send out an approval letter, wall plaque
and certificate of qualifications your Centre
is accredited to offer.
This is updated annually
