Are you feeling it Are things getting just a
little better in the economy This recession
has been going on so long that it’s difficult to
feel whether we’re pulling out of it.
A time-honored way of dealing with
the stress of the day, including finances,
is to take some time out for yourself
and exercise, socialize, or otherwise
revitalize. Recreation and leisure take your mind
off the stresses in life and improve your health.
LARPD has many no-cost or low-cost opportunities for you to
relax, engage, rejuvenate and recharge your batteries.
• Do something positive for yourself and take advantage of
some of the many activities and parks
outlined in this guide.
• Take a walk, jog, horseback ride, or
bike ride in Sycamore Grove Park.
• Valley Rock Climbing Gym, operated
by LARPD, gives you the same thrill
and exercise you may have experienced
as a kid!
This summer, Robertson Park will be Sycamore Grove Park
under construction to convert the two
lighted soccer fields to artificial turf. When complete, the park will
be available for more playing time, rain or shine, throughout the
whole year for our local soccer and field sports groups. This is an
exciting financial partnership with Livermore’s Fusion Soccer Club
that will save water and labor for the District’s budget, which has
been affected by reduced property values and taxes in the past
few years.
Enjoy the summer!
Tim Barry
General Manager, LARPD
LARPD Mission
is not affiliated with the City of Livermore or the school district. Created
by public vote in 1947, the District serves 80,000 residents in a 245
