*RACETEC TIMING SYSTEM FOR THE 21.1KM:
You must have a RaceTec chip for the half marathon. RaceTec timing chips are used at the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and
the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. No other chip is acceptable. If you already own a RaceTec chip, enter your chip number (on
the exterior of the chip) on the form. If you do NOT own a RaceTec chip, you MUST purchase one when you enter the Gun Run Half
Marathon. Chips are available for R100 (usual price R120). You can collect your chip with your race number at registration. You can
use your unique chip for this and future timed events which use the RaceTec system. The chip must be placed VERTICALLY and
not horizontally on your shoe laces in order to be read over the timing mats. NB: You MUST wear your RaceTec chip when you run
the Gun Run Half Marathon. If you don’t wear your chip you will NOT be listed as an official finisher or receive an official time and
you will NOT qualify for prize money or have your participation added to your race history.
NB Chips are NOT required in the 10km and 5km events.

the organisation or holding of the race liable for any illness
or injury which I may suffer directly or indirectly as a result of

HOW TO ENTER
Complete this entry form and post, fax or scan and e-mail it to the listed numbers.
Please ensure all details are filled in correctly and that you have remembered to sign the
indemnity and include your payment. Please attach your deposit slip to the entry form.
Once your entry has been processed, you will be emailed an acceptance of entry
which must be brought with you to number collection. Closer to registration you will
receive an SMS confirming your race number and registration venue. Entries must be
received by Friday 28 September. If you entered just before closing date and have
not received your acceptance email, please bring your original documents with you

* EACH RACE DISTANCE HAS A DIFFERENT BIB NUMBER RANGE AND COLOUR with
your data captured on computer. DO NOT GIVE YOUR RACE NUMBER or
lend your chip TO ANYONE ELSE OR TRANSFER BETWEEN RACES WITHOUT
NOTIFYING TOP EVENTS FOR the DATABASE TO BE UPDATED. Failure to do
this WILL lead to INCORRECT results AND disqualification.
Rules
THESE RULES APPLY TO THE 21.1KM
AND 10KM RACES
• The official race number must be worn
unaltered on the front of the participant’s vest.
• The races are run according to the rules of
WPA and ASA.
• Licensed runners must wear club colours
and their 2012 licence number on the back of
their vests. They must be a member of a club
affiliated to ASA.
• Unlicensed runners must wear a temporary
licence number on the back of their vests. It
will be included in their race package.
• Entrants for the Half Marathon must be at
least 16 years of age on race day.
• Entrants for the 10km race must be at least 15
years of age on race day.
• Personal seconding is not allowed.
• Water and Coke tables will be situated
approximately every 3km along race route.
• In addition to open prizes, participants will
only be eligible for an age category prize in
the age category they enter.
• Corresponding numerical age category
tags must be worn on the front and back
of the vest to be eligible for category prizes.
• Participants may enter the age category
corresponding to their chronological age or
any younger category down to senior.
• Temporary licensed participants are eligible
for age category prizes provided they enter
the relevant age group, wear the appropriate
age tag and provide proof of age.
• Juniors (born 1993 to 1996 for 21,1km or born
1993 to 1997 for 10km) must display “J” tags
to qualify for age group prizes. Juniors will
count towards the Senior team prizes.
• Club colours must be worn to qualify for
team prizes.
• Participants will qualify for age category team
prizes based on the individual age category
they enter (with corresponding age category
tags). Older participants qualify for a younger
team only if there is no team competition for
their specific age category.
• Age category tags may be purchased at
number collection.

The JAG Foundation
Founded in April 2007, the JAG Foundation is one of the leading charitable organisations
in the country. Spearheaded by ex-Olympic athlete, Elana Meyer, JAG aims to engage
children in programmes that teach values and enhance self-esteem, self-discipline, goals,
focus and sportsmanship.
Alcohol and drugs are the root cause of most social ills including gangsterism, crime,
domestic violence, broken homes, unemployment and HIV/AIDS. The JAG Foundation
provides children from disadvantaged communities with alternative life choices, steering
them away from the accepted or natural life path in these communities caused by these
social ills. The JAG Foundation uses sport as a catalyst for change, exposing these children
to an alternate life path through mentoring, coaching, knowledge and organised physical
activity programmes.
