Montane forests of the Mediterranean basin, dom inated by cypress (Cupressus
sempervirens, Cupressus atlantica or Cupressus dupreziana). Only Mediterranean cypress (C.
semprvirens) is found in Europe, the other species occuring in north Africa.
Within the European Union this habitat is present only in Greece and Cyprus in the
Mediterranean region. The conservation status is ‘favourable’ with no m ajor threats
reported.
