OF THE GENERAL MANAGER
Dear Exhibitors,
The first edition of the Trade Fair of Electrotechnics, Electronics and Power Engineering “ELECTRON” is over. Our aim was
to provide companies from this sector with a possibility of presenting their services, products as well as ideas and to
continue this way in the tradition of the best products and services of electrotechnics in Prague. We believe that we have
succeeded in meeting this target and we will continue to fulfil and develop it in next years as well. Electrotechnics is always
a sector in which you have a lot of innovations for presentation to the world. The ELECTRON Trade Fair with an offer of
innovations and unique technologies is a clear and convincing evidence supporting this strategy.
The Exhibition Centre Prague Letnany will be pleased to welcome the ELECTRON Trade Fair also next year, with a support
of new simultaneous Trade Fairs FOR ENERGO and FOR AUTOMATION.
We are looking forward to you in the term from 13 to 16 March 2012.

PRIVATE VIEW
The ELECTRON 2011 Trade Fair was commenced in a ceremonial manner with a private view held at participation of
a number of VIP guests. The symbolic ribbon was cut by Ing. Milan Urban, Chairman of the Economic Committee of the
Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, by Ing. Pavel Sehnal, Chairman of the Board of Directors
of ABF, a.s. and by Ing. Jaroslav Čížek MBA, Chief Executive Officer of ABF, a.s.
Ing. Pavel Sehnal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ABF, a.s., has passed the message from prof. Ing. Václav
Havlíček, CSc., Rector of the Czech Technical University, who emphasised that the ELECTRON Trade Fair could help to the
enlivening of the interest in technical branches. Ing. Milan Urban, Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Chamber
of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, further developed this message when he expressed a wish that technical
branches in the Czech Republic should again become as important and recognised at an international level as they used
to be in the period of the First Republic. The private view was organised with participation of other VIP guests, such as
Ing. Dagmar Dvořáková, Project Manager of VŠMVV Praha, o.p.s., Daniel Bartoš, DiS., Director of the Trade Fair
Administration of ABF, a.s. and Ing. Vanda Yousifová, Chief Manager of the ELECTRON Trade Fair.
FESTIVE EVENING PARTY
The Festive Evening Party of the ELECTRON Trade Fair took place on the second Trade Fair day in the premises
of Hotel Ambassador Zlatá Husa in the centre of Prague, within the framework of which the winners of the
GRAND PRIX and TOP EXPO competitions were announced.
The official announcement of all the winners was followed by the SKUPINA band show with its lead vocalist Tereza Černochová
and by a buffet party.

GRAND PRIX
RESULTS OF THE ELECTRON 2011 GRAND PRIX AND TOP EXPO COMPETITIONS
The results of the GRAND PRIX and TOP EXPO competitions were announced within the framework of the
ELECTRON 2011 Trade Fair. Concerning the GRAND PRIX competition, the exhibiting firms could register
a product which is innovative, brings progress in electrotechnics, electronics or power engineering, and
in terms of its performance it is comparable with the world’s top level.
GRAND PRIX
All the exhibits which were registered in the prestigious GRAND PRIX competition for the most innovative product were
assessed by the Expert Jury of the competition.
The Jury was facing an uneasy task to select the best products because the competition has been really very hard this
year and the number of candidates for awards was rather high. It is just for this reason why the Jury finally selected not
only three winners but granted also altogether 5 GRAND PRIX Honourable Mentions.
The following companies became winners of the GRAND PRIX competition, without any more detailed order
specification:

The Honourable Mentions of the Jury of GRAND PRIX of the ELECTRON 2011 Trade Fair were awarded to the

TOP EXPO
The awards of the TOP EXPO competition were granted to:
The award for the best exposition in the size category above 200 m 2 was granted to ABB s.r.o.
The award in the category up to 100 m 2 was received by LAPP KABEL s.r.o.
The representatives of the RS ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA company took over the award for the best exposition in the category
up to 50 m 2 at the Festive Evening Party.
With regard to the fact that the Trade Fair offered a number of expositions designed in a really excellent way, the organisers

MEDIA CAMPAIGN
The media campaign to the ELECTRON Trade Fair started already in July 2010 in all Czech and selected
foreign professional titles by way of advertisements, articles and on specialised Internet-based portals.
The presentation in the specialised media was continually followed up by outdoor advertising in the form
of billboards in frequented places all over the Czech Republic and by the advertising campaign focused on
the general public and communication of the ELECTRON brand.

Billboards: The outdoor campaign was held in the period from 1 March 2011 to 15 April 2011. The billboard advertisings were
aimed at highly frequented places of the D1, D2, D5, D11, I 10 motorways, and also the Capital City of Prague and the City of Brno.
Cooperation with wholesalers: Approximately 150,000 complimentary entrance tickets for the Trade Fair were distributed
within the framework of cooperation with wholesalers in electrotechnical goods.

“SMA Czech Republic, a subsidiary of SMA Solar
Technology AG, the world’s largest manufacturer of
inverters for photovoltaic systems, decided for the
traditional place of meetings of the professional public
from the number of power engineers, and presented its
product and service range at the ELECTRON Trade Fair
in Prague. The Trade Fair visitors were interested
especially in the competition for the top photovoltaic
inverter known as Sunny Boy 3000TL, which is
intended for small on-roof installations. Several
hundreds of competitors got registered in the lottery
for the Sunny Boy inverter in the SMA stand. The SMA
company’s participation at the ELECTRON Trade Fair
was crowned with success in the form of obtaining the
Honourable Mention from the Expert Jury of the Grand
Prix competition for the central photovoltaic inverter
SC 800CP.”
