You are never alone.
Our Gaucher Mentors are always there for you and your family.
The National Gaucher Foundation (NGF) established the Gaucher Mentor Program as a
service to assist the Gaucher community in navigating the maze of systems and programs
which families and individuals face in dealing with Gaucher disease.
The Program include individuals or their family members who have G aucher
disease and the experiences, knowledge and commitment of people dedicated to helping
others. Our mentors have volunteered to share their collective wealth of knowledge,
resources and personal experience with others to help ease some of the stress and
uncertainty that comes with being newly diagnosed.
For the previously diagnosed and newly diagnosed, Mentors provide an avenue for individuals
to find answers to their questions, resources they can utilize for their families and comfort in
knowing that someone is always there to help them.
Mentors are dedicated to helping change the lives of others by ensuring that no individual
with Gaucher disease will ever have to be alone in facing the myriad issues surrounding
Gaucher disease. From insurance, to evaluations and management of Gaucher disease,
to family and child-related issues and coping with a chronic disease, these knowledgeable
and caring Gaucher Mentors, collectively, have dealt with every topic.
