FLASH COLUMNS<br />
The SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> <strong>Columns</strong> are versatile enough to be used on<br />
any machine. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns are clear, so that one may see<br />
their bands or use a UV light to see their bands when using it in<br />
the hood (Darkened Hood). The SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns have luer<br />
fittings which allow for attachment to any machine including:<br />
Biotage©, Isco®, SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong>© Pump units, etc. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns<br />
fit into the slots of Isco® Flash Machines. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns fit<br />
onto all Biotage Horizons , manual, SP-1 and SP-4 by luer fittings,<br />
eliminating the need for compression fittings. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> <br />
columns can be easily pre-equilibrated. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns have<br />
an added advantage that they allow direct injection as close to the<br />
sorbent bed as possible, either by liquid or dry loading, directly to<br />
the column. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> <strong>Columns</strong> are easy to use whether you<br />
have expensive equipment or you are just starting a lab.<br />
The SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong>TM columns allow for liquid or dry loading directly<br />
on the column. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns can be liquid loaded easily by<br />
pouring the material on top of the column, then placing on the cap,<br />
and taking a 10mL-20mL (plastic) syringe and pushing the liquid onto<br />
the column. Scientists also allow for more polar loading solvents such<br />
as DCM-Methanol to evaporate by allowing the column to air dry in<br />
the hood. This is suggested to avoid streaking when starting Hexane<br />
or less polar solvents. Dry loading has been simplified for the Isco by<br />
the SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns. Because you do not need a 2nd column<br />
on top, which can cause precipitation in the line, and can cause a<br />
system “Crash”. SINGLE <strong>StEP</strong> columns have served as robust columns<br />
that can be used on many different types of machines for any<br />
Flash or MPLC need.<br />
