BlueWalker GmbH expands compatibility of <strong>PowerWalker</strong> <strong>UPS</strong> systems<br />
to leading <strong>NAS</strong> manufacturers (QNAP, Synology, Thecus)<br />
Already in November last year <strong>PowerWalker</strong> <strong>UPS</strong> systems became compatible to Synology<br />
<strong>NAS</strong>. In close cooperation with Synology Inc. in Taipei and their German office Synology<br />
GmbH in Duesseldorf, a direct connectivity has been established that makes <strong>PowerWalker</strong><br />
<strong>UPS</strong> plug and play compatible to all Synology <strong>NAS</strong> systems with firmware higher than 4.1.<br />

Consequently following this up, recently also the compatibility to models from QNAP<br />
(firmware 3.8.2 or higher) and Thecus (all 64 bit systems) was realized. Under <strong>UPS</strong><br />
support in the energy tab of the system control panel a choice of all <strong>PowerWalker</strong> <strong>UPS</strong> is<br />
available. Only enable the <strong>UPS</strong> support, choose the connected <strong>UPS</strong> model and your <strong>NAS</strong><br />
system is already protected against crashes caused by power outages. If the power failure<br />
takes a little longer the <strong>UPS</strong> activates the shutdown<br />
of the <strong>NAS</strong> to protect the internal hard disks and your data.<br />
