From Dursley take the A4135 towards<br />

Tetbury.<br />

Follow this route out through Dursley and<br />

up hill with Twinberrow Woods on the right<br />

hand side.<br />

At the top of the hill take a sharp right.<br />

Continue along this road until you see the<br />

sign for the Sculpture and Play <strong>Trail</strong>.<br />

There is parking on the left and right hand<br />

sides of the road.<br />

'Fox and Cubs' Created by Dursley C of E Primary School<br />

Sponsored by: St Modwen<br />

Years 5 and 6 drew pictures of foxes and badgers. One was<br />

selected and created in rolled steel.<br />

'The Omega Tree - Healthy Living', Rednock School<br />

The Design Department worked to the theme Healthy Living to create The<br />

Omega Tree. They told us that they were really thrilled to be involved and were<br />

looking forward to adding more sculptures in the future.<br />

'Mini Beasts' Created by Year 2 E<strong>ver</strong>lands Primary School<br />

An exciting design project for 6 year olds. Can you identify all five beasts<br />

'3 Bags Full Family' Created by GL11 Community Project<br />

GL11 'Families Learning Together' group created this sculpture based on a<br />

Childrens Story. More about the story at a future date.<br />

'Spikey and Splodge' Created by North Nibley C of E Primary School<br />

'We brainstormed all the creatures we might find in the woods<br />

and chose a caterpillar because it could be bright and colourful<br />

and make people smile. It was perfect because we could all make<br />

a segment.<br />

'Suncatchers Food For Thought' Created by Dursley Training Unit<br />

Sponsored by Phil Walker of B Walker & Co<br />

The adults in Dursley Training Unit created these sculptures based on a theme of<br />

Healthy Living. They all chose their favourite Fruit and were assisted by their<br />

craft tutor Jill Littleford to create the mosaics.<br />

'From Darkness to Light' Created by Gloucestershire Association<br />

for Mental Health Tyndale Centre, Sponsored by Stroud District<br />

Council<br />

'Yercombe Fantasia' Created by Yercombe Lodge Day Centre sponsored by<br />

This represents many hours of work by those who attend the Centre from all o<strong>ver</strong><br />

the area. The spiders web made in willow with colourful fireflies made in papier<br />

mache and treated with varnish.<br />

TreeTops Childrens Centre<br />

Children's Picnic tables beautifully decorated and with children's' activity<br />

sheets attached.<br />

'Hazel,s Bench' Designed and Created by Hazel Moy, local sculptor<br />

Our thanks to Hazel for designing this seat in hazel for the trail.<br />

'Friendship Circle' Created by Simon Long of Traditional Forestry<br />

Sit and talk, share a memory or a good story.<br />

Sit and think and who knows what might happen!<br />

'Willow <strong>Trail</strong>' Created by Kieran Playford Greenwell/Katey Burak<br />

The Hazel Benders were created by Kieran and Katy, two arts students<br />

who approached <strong>Vale</strong> <strong>Vision</strong> because they wanted to create something in natural<br />

materials for the trail.<br />

'Leo the Lion' Dursley Open Door Sponsored by Dursley Lions<br />

Latest addition to the <strong>Trail</strong> - an attractive Mosaic of a Lions's head created by<br />

Dursley Open Door, assisted by their craft tutor, Jill Littleford.<br />

Work in Progress - expected soon - do visit regularly to check for changes<br />

This exciting project designed and created by the community will be a changing<br />

scene with new pieces being added as more community groups get involved.<br />

Some work is currently being created and should be added to the trail within the<br />

next couple of months.<br />

Reminiscence<br />

Memories of youthful days in local woodland and the pleasure such a beautiful<br />
