Leadership Team Meeting
March 13, 2012
7:30 pm.
Present: Pat Gibble, Larry Gibble, Bernetta Kile, Roy Rollman, Don Hubbell, Vivian Hubbell,
Melinda Carlson, Sheryl Leaman, Mary Esther Anderson, Bill Bernhardt, Greg Klinedinst, John Anderson,
Brad Shenk.
Absent:
Terry Wueschinski, Dave McCracken
1. Meeting was called to order by Leadership Team Chair Bernetta at 7:30 PM.
2. Devotions/ Prayer - Worship Chair - Pat Gibble spoke on the theme concerning music, joy, and
selection. And then read from 1 Chronicles 15.
3. Leadership Training Module - Larry
"WOM" -
Word of Mouth
a. Whatever we say we are marketing our church, it's the most effective way to get the word out. The
"WOM"marketing sheet has 8 points describing how to go about it.
4. Presentation of Agenda: - Additions, Reports on Hospitality, and under Unfinished
Business, Discernment.
5. Approval of Minutes from Feb. 14, 2012: - Minutes were revised. Mary Esther Anderson
motioned to accept and John Anderson second it.
6. Reports:
a. Treasurer - Sheryl Leaman revised January's statement and handed out copies. All banking will be
done through PNC, and the staff will be signed up for direct deposit. Also she went over the treasurers
report with the Leadership Team.
b. Others - Larry Gibble mentions how our weekly church bulletin can be used to explain what the
church does and what it's about concerning hospitality, another option would be to have a tri-fold
bulletin with inserts made up.
7. NCD Update: Vivian Hubbell displays a revised brochure on Children and Youth Ministries.
8. Unfinished Business:

a. Church Planting - First Church will be meeting with Church Development Revitalization
Commission (CDRC) Representatives from Second Church in April.
b. Worship Team - Discussions were held and will continue
c. Hospitality Semiar - On May 19th a Biblical Seminar will be held at First Church on hospitality
with guest speaker Fred Bernhard. Larry is looking into badges for greeters, kitchen support and tear
downs will also be needed. First Church will be able to handle up to 300 people for this hospitality event.
We have discussed advertisement by way of Television, Newspaper, E- mail and communicating with
other churches.
d. Church Secretary Position - Discussions were held and will continue
e. Gifts Discernment - Officers of the church must be members to serve the church. Concerning the
Time and Talent survey document it will be simplified on how we can serve the church and in what
capacity.
9. New Business: - None
10. Informational: - The annual conference will be held on Sunday June 3, 2012. And all reports
are due on March 25, 2012. Next meeting is on April 10, 2012. - Devotions, Christian Education.
11. Adjournment: - Meeting was adjourned at 8: 55 PM.
