ANNuAl FuNd CAmpAIGN
in Full Swing for the 2012-2013 School Year
The Fund for Good Counsel (or Annual Fund)
sustains every student by providing critical resources
for financial assistance, learning enhancements,
extracurricular programs, teacher and staff salaries,
building services and much more. Contributions to the
Fund help Good Counsel offer life-changing experiences
and top quality academics for each of our students.
Support of the Fund for Good Counsel is a vote of
confidence in the school and the students and an
investment in their education.
The Parents Annual Fund campaign is being led by
Dan ’82 and Deb Corr, parents of Katie ’15. Phonathons
and mailings are helping to generate parent support.
Melissa Huey-Burns, English Resource Chair, and Bill
Mooney ’68, Accounts Payable Manager, stepped up
to serve as co-chairs of the faculty/staff campaign.
A number of faculty and staff members wrote
inspirational letters to share why they support the
fund. To date, 62% of faculty and staff have made a
gift or a pledge to the 2012-2013 Fund for GC. Chris
Bowers ’90 and Maria Morris Bowers ’90 are serving
as the alumni chairs for this year’s Annual Fund.
Mailings and phonathons are underway to help increase
the number of alumni who support Good Counsel.
Board Member Nancy Wheeler and her husband Gary,
parents of Gary ’00, Stephen ’03 and Claire ’07, are
encouraging parents of alumni to remain connected
and involved in GC, as our Parents of Alumni Chairs.
Grandparent Chair Frank Lozupone, parent of Michael
’76, Frank ’79 and Joseph ’81 and grandparent of eight
from the classes of ’03, ’06, and ’09, wrote a heart-felt
letter to other grandparents to encourage support for
the Fund for Good Counsel.

Ann Kerrigan joined
the Advancement team
at Good Counsel in June
as the Director of Annual
Giving. Ann came to GC
from Don Bosco Cristo
Rey High School in
Takoma Park, MD, where
she was Business
Development Manager.
Don Bosco is a high
school for low income
students that work in
area businesses one day
a week to pay for their
tuition. Ann was responsible for securing funding
from companies to employ the students. She
started her career at Discovery Communications
where she worked for 14 years in business
development. Ann grew up in Montgomery
County and attended Connelly School of the
Holy Child. She graduated from Lynchburg
College in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in
communications and a minor in journalism.
In her role as Director of Annual Giving, Ann is
working on increasing awareness, participation,
and funding for the school’s operating budget.
