and some of the impacts caused
(in an admittedly one-sided
presentation of opinion)
(1. Money)
A divisive conception that made up rich
and poor, [ ] Could’ve all been equalish
but now some have so much more, [ ]
Little bits of nowt at all that are
desperately clung onto, [ ] Even though
we all accept it has no intrinsic value, [ ]
Yet still read the rich list in The Times as if
a measurement of power, [ ] Veneration
for mostly wealth through birth leaves me
fucking sour, [ ] To justify its own
continuance, masquerades as the ‘great
allower’, [ ] But I don’t need a credit card
to enjoy an April Shower, [ ] I want to
live in a world without a fee to not go
hungry, [ ] The dilemma posed, I’m sunk
in stupor, I want folk to do it for me. [ ]
(2. Time)
I don’t need to know what time it is, and I’d
rather it that way [ ] Organised around a
clock in’t the nicest way to live the day, [ ]
Imprisoning to others’ rule, tick-tock be
your sedation, [ ] The freedom quelling
wall-eye’s gaze enforces your deflation, [ ]
Yet clocks aren’t real they’re just made up to
numericise the hours, [ ] But following
their stringent rule makes chains to
disempower, [ ] Clocks and Calendars
aren’t the actual problem just the way they’re
used, [ ] The sheer detest of the working
week can give sufficient clues, [ ] Time is
real just not the names, and time will pass
you by, [ ] But it’s not entirely necessary to
know if it’s February or July. [ ]
(3. Nations and borders)
Nations states are just made up, we drew
the borders on, [ ] My cliché cynicism
suspects by an upper echelon, [ ] They
monopolise violence, but I belong to no
one but mi mam, [ ] But sketchmarks in
cartography argue I’m tied unto this land,
[ ] I like it yeh, but if I dint, it’s my
freedom to leave, [ ] For where I do
without harassment that a passport be
unsheathed, [ ] Cause no one owns the
world, and you can’t own men or land, [
] Except like before where I said I’m
owned by mi mam, [ ] Banging pegs in
the ground dun’t mean a thing, it dun’t
make it really yours, [ ] And tell me I
can’t walk somewhere I’ll fight it teeth
and claws.
(4.Culture)
It’s debatable to say race in’t real cause I
can see some difference, [ ] But cause
someone’s brown and someone‘s not in’t
enough to decry coexistence, [ ] So
cultural differences are proffered but that
dunt justify it either, [ ] Cause culture
dunt exist in a vacuum and differences
impact on each other, [ ] And culture
isn’t providence but occurs through
circumstances, [ ] Summat created so
haphazardly can’t claim to have the
answers, [ ] Nor is it so static but is
always rearranging, [ ] So stop being so
fucking racist it dun’t matter if it’s
changing.
