For over 85 years, the name Otto Bock has stood for technology, innovation, quality and customer
orientation. With a pioneering spirit, courage and decisiveness, orthopaedic technician Otto Bock
established Otto Bock Orthopädische Industrie GmbH in 1919 in Berlin. He had the courage
to break new ground and set higher standards which would revolutionize an entire sector. Now
headed by Dr. Max Näder, Otto Bock has become a company of international standing. Thanks
to his creativity and inventive talent, Max Näder continued to set standards in orthopaedic technology
with products such as the modular leg prosthesis system or myoelectric arm prosthesis.
The company began to establish an international sales structure in 1958, when the first foreign
subsidiary was founded. After years of consistent and dynamic expansion, today Otto Bock is a
true global player and a strong corporate brand. Around the world, our name stands for high-quality,
high-performance and technologically outstanding products and services in orthopaedic and
rehabilitation technology. In further pursuing this path, all of our activities are focused on people:
we wish to provide them with an utmost degree of mobility, autonomy and normality.
