NPQML
NPQML is the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership.
It has been developed for staff leading a team within an organisation. It is
often aligned with middle leadership in a school and might include staff who
have aspire to middle leadership and are keen to seek promotion to middle
leadership roles, those who have recently taken on a middle leadership role or
a new responsibility or staff who are more established and experienced in their
role. NPQML is relevant for a wide range of leaders and aspiring leaders at this
level.

QTL Consortium to offer development for leaders in a wide range of contexts.
The modular curriculum approach provides a flexible learning journey that is
appropriate to particular roles and contexts. The National College’s curriculum
modules, linked to national qualifications, have been designed and developed
by the profession and are ranked among the best available.

Leadership Development Schools
QTL Leadership Development Schools make an important contribution to
developing the leadership skills of future schools leaders. They enable trainee
head teachers to gain insights into unfamiliar contexts, develop their capacity
to lead in different environments and observe and experience different
leadership styles.
NPQH
The National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) is the first choice
qualification for anyone aspiring to be a headteacher or principal. Designed in
collaboration with some of the country’s leading headteachers and academics,
NPQH will develop talented leaders from all backgrounds who can deliver
educational excellence in a self-improving system, and high quality outcomes
for pupils and students.
NPQSL
NPQSL is the professional qualification for staff with responsibilities and
accountabilities traditionally associated with senior leadership roles across
more than one team and/or leading across a school, academic or children’s
centre (for example, assistant head, deputy head, SENCO etc.). It is also
appropriate for Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs), senior leaders in
federations with responsibility areas across several schools or staff who have
responsibility for supporting other schools.
The modules are also suitable for experienced middle leaders who are seeking
promotion and keen to take up a senior leadership role in the future. Senior
leaders working in schools and academies who are not qualified teachers (for
example, bursars, HR officers) may also use the qualification to broaden their
knowledge and understanding of aspects of school or academy leadership
