MINUTES of MEETING 8/02/2011<br />
Opened: - 7-40 pm.<br />

Dean Trenwith.<br />
Treasurers Report Read by Susan Forby: - Acc by: Ozzie Sec by: Reece Constable.<br />
Director’s Report: - David reported that Drew’s ride was well attended.<br />
Sock was in Modbury Hospital and Jennifer Masters was in the QEH.<br />
The Committee is working towards a new rider’s safe day. Greg has organized the format for this and these will be<br />
compulsory for new riders. David thanked Peter Stevens for providing the raffle prizes.<br />
Past Directors patches were handed to Ray Toner, Ray Stevens, Barry Linke and Bob Woodfull.<br />
Assistant Director: - Drew had been contacted by the Birdwood Mill asking for Harley’s on April 17 th . This was the same<br />
date as our Anniversary Ride but those who were interested could contact Drew. The 5 year pins will be handed out at the<br />
April meeting.<br />
The State Rally Committee so far consisted of 14 members and the first meeting is yet to happen.<br />
LOH: - Carmen has booked another bowling night on April 1 st cost is $25 and this will be subsidized. On the 1 st May will<br />
be the first LOH ride.<br />
Membership Report: - Ingrid thanked all those who have started to re-new their membership. Cards will be available at<br />
the next meeting or in the post.<br />
Ride Captain’s Report: - Laurie reported that 25 bikes turned up for the Camp Capacity evening and both the members<br />
and the children had a great time.<br />
Drew’s ride saw 56 bikes bike attend and because of the hot weather Ozzie’s ride was cancelled and will now be on<br />
March 13 th . Zippels night was well attended and for those interested in the Cobby weekend there is a group leaving at 10-<br />
30am from Caltex Bolívar.<br />
On the 27 th February the ride will leave Caltex Bolivar at 9-30 am for Alan Hancock’s house at Ardrossan for a BBQ.<br />
Rooms for the Border Run are running out so see Laurie if you are going and require a room. National Rally there are still<br />
some rooms available so contact Laurie for further details.
Safety Officer Report: - Gregg reported that the Stay Upright Course on April the 3 rd currently has 38 names. More are<br />
needed on the list in case of drop outs. Greg briefly explained what the course will cover.<br />
The New Members orientation course will take place on Sunday the 20 th February.<br />
There are currently five members on the list for Wizards Workshop. More are needed before the next one will be run.<br />
The first aid course will be run by Phil Knight and will take place on the 10 th of March at 6-30 pm at Campbeltown.<br />
There is now a new Safety Tab on the website.<br />
Patches are available for the past Merna Morna trips and this year it will take place over the June weekend.<br />
Greg’s ride on this Sunday will leave MacDonald’s Trinity Gardens at 9-30 am and will finish at Lobethal for lunch. After<br />
lunch the ride back may stop at the All British Classic Cars and Bikes show at Uraidla.<br />
Webmaster Report: - Gibbo reported that all was up to date on the site.<br />
Editors Report: - Mick has sent some spare magazines and they are available at the meeting.<br />
HOG Shop: - Vicki reported that the small rockers are in and the large have to be ordered in from USA. 2010<br />
windsheaters are $40. Long and short sleeve T shirts are available ladies $20 short sleeve $25 long $30.<br />
New Business: - Ladies night will take place at Peter Stevens on the 16 th March time to be announced. Ian Crannaford<br />
brought up Hogs and Rods. David asked the members present “who would be interested in taking over and running the<br />
Make a Wish Hogs and Rods. No interest was shown.<br />
Ray Toner mentioned that he had, had feedback from a parent from MDA about the Chapters participation. It was all<br />
positive and thanks were again conveyed to the members.<br />
General Business: - The question was asked if we had to join Zippels to do the cruise. Laurie stated no our presence<br />
was by invitation but he himself had joined.<br />
Bob Gitsham brought up the issue of back patches and that Ulysses AGM in the past was raided by a patch group so the<br />
large back rockers were looked at being removed. There had been issues with any Club wearing large back patches who<br />
were not 1% ers.<br />
More bikes are still required for the speedway on March the 5 th . Contact Thomas for details.<br />
David stated that on Drew’s ride Helen had an incident and it was pleasing to know that individuals at the scene took<br />
control, contacted Laurie and controlled local traffic until the authorities had arrived.<br />
Smarty asked us to look at breaking larger groups into two. David stated that this had already been discussed and was<br />
under control.<br />
David introduced the guest speaker Steve Neeskens the Service Manager from Peter Stevens.<br />
Steve informed the members about the changing renovations at PS and that Harley Davidson will now be under the main<br />
roof of the Dealership. The other makes will be processed across the road. This meant that those who purchased a new<br />
Harley could see the process etc leading up to its delivery. Lead in time for tyre fitting and workshop bookings have been<br />
shortened. Questions were asked as to what PS does about travelers who needed immediate repairs as experience has<br />
shown that dealers in other states do not care and one just has to go on the end of the booking list no matter how long.<br />
Steve stated that it was the policy of PS to help out riders with these issues ASAP so they can be on their way.<br />
Steve asked that if any member had a technical question could they put it in writing and he would see that it was<br />
answered in the future.<br />
David and the members thanked Steve for his attendance and information.<br />
Raffle: - Won by Steve Townsend, Wattie, Dad, Ian, Trevor, Patrick, Stephen, Andy, Paul and Vicki.<br />
