Help employees be healthy in 2013
By spring, New Year’s resolutions
have often fallen by the wayside
and health goals have been lost in the
hustle and bustle of daily activities.
GEHA offers a number of resources
to help keep your organization’s
employees focused on managing and
improving their health and wellness.
A sustained effort to improve employee
wellness can have a huge impact on
health care costs, improve employees’
productivity and job satisfaction, and
give some extra encouragement
and added resources to those who
are actively engaged – or beginning
their journey – toward a personal
wellness goal.
Spring 2013
Connection Dental Plus ® offers supplemental
benefits and year-round enrollment
Current and former federal
employees and annuitants
who didn’t enroll in a FEDVIP plan
this Open Season have another
option for dental coverage. GEHA’s
Connection Dental Plus ® , a
supplemental dental plan, is open
for enrollment year-round and
provides coverage for a range of
dental services. All FEHB-eligible
federal employees – including those
who are not members of a GEHA
health plan – are eligible to enroll in
the Connection Dental Plus plan.
Schedule a wellness event
GEHA would be happy to plan a
We can offer onsite
talk, offer wellness-related giveaways
and provide health information and
materials. Contact your regional
Account Executive (see the directory
on page 2) for more information.
Connection Dental Plus offers three
enrollment options: Self Only, Self
and One dependent, or Self and
Family. Multiple enrollment options
give enrollees the opportunity to
choose a plan – and premium –
that best suits their personal health
care needs.
And, with Connection Dental Plus,
enrollees can continue coverage for
their dependent children up to age 25.
Plan members have the freedom to
choose any dentist, but may receive
Stuffed
chicken breasts
Greek yogurt is the secret to this
succulent stuffed chicken.
Ingredients:
• Canola oil cooking spray
• 1 lb. boneless, skinless
chicken breast, four thick
pieces
• 3/4 cup low-fat shredded
cheddar cheese
• 2 Tbsp. green onions, finely
chopped, including the stems
• 1 medium red bell pepper,
1/2 diced, 1/2 sliced
• 1 Tbsp. plain Greek yogurt
or canola mayonnaise
• 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp. hot sauce (optional)
• 1 Tbsp. olive oil
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
or 1 Tbsp. dried parsley
• Salt and freshly ground
pepper to taste
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray 7 x 11-inch pan with
cooking spray.
2. Carefully cut about a 1 inch
wide slit into the thick end of
each chicken breast. Insert knife
to create a fairly deep pocket.
3. Combine cheese, green
onions, red pepper, yogurt,
lemon juice and hot sauce in
mixing bowl. Divide mixture into
four portions and use a spoon to
stuff breasts. Secure openings
with wooden toothpicks inserted
at an angle so meat lays flat.
Place in prepared pan.
4. Brush olive oil over top
of chicken and sprinkle with
parsley, then pepper and salt.
5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or
until chicken is cooked through.
Let stand about five minutes.
Garnish with red pepper slices
and serve. Makes 4 servings.
