Korean government issued Security Control Guidelines for liquids, gels and aerosols according to ICAO's recommendation in response to the threat of liquids explosives, which apply to all passengers using international flights departing or transiting in Korea from March 1, 2007. Therefore passengers using international flights departing or transiting in Korea are required to pay attention on the followings. Restriction of the carriage of liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on bags - All liquids must be carried in containers not greater than 100 ml and they must fit comfortably in a one(1) liter transparent re-sealable plastic bag. - The maximum number of one(1) liter plastic bag is one(1) per passenger, and liquids exceeding the allowance must be packed in checked baggage because it may be confiscated or destroyed. - Exemptions apply to medications and baby foods. Restriction of the carriage of duty-free liquids in carry-on bags - All duty-free liquids must be packed in a tamper-evident bag with receipts inside or attached, and there must be no evidence that the bag is opened. As of 2008.1.1, Only the STEB(Security Tamper-Evident Bag) meeting the ICAO’s technical specification can be used. - Duty-free liquids can be confiscated while transiting in other countries, therefore passengers are required to ask duty free shops or airlines for purchasing liquids duty-free items. Remarks - One(1) liter plastic bag, Coats, Jackets, and Laptops must be presented to the screener separate from other belongings at the security check points. - Passengers should prepare one(1) liter plastic bag in advance (available at convenience stores in the airport) Zipper Transparent plastic bag (less than 1) exceeding 1 Liquids, gels and aerosols (less than 100) exceeding 100
