The College of International Education (CIE) offers the Associate
Degree Programme and other post-secondary educational
programmes to serve the diversified needs of students. Through
the broad-based and innovative curricula, the CIE aims to develop
the full range of abilities of students and equip them either
for employment or for continued studies in local or overseas
universities. Articulation network with universities in Australia,
Canada, New Zealand, the United States and the United
Kingdom has been established for students to continue their final
two years of undergraduate studies.
associate degree Programme
The Assoicate Degree Programme is a 65-unit programme which
normally requires two-year full-time studies. The curriculum is
designed to provide students with a broad-based education as
well as concentrations in one or two disciplines. It is hoped that
the general education component can broaden students’ horizon
while the concentrated element mandates some depth in students’
academic pursuit. Upon successful completion of the programme,
students will be awarded the Associate of Arts or Associate of
Science.
Aim
The overall aim is to provide post-secondary students with a fulltime
education opportunity to acquire a broad-based general
education in preparation for employment or further studies
overseas and locally. At present, the College has articulation
agreements with 28 overseas universities which Associate Degree
holders can apply for direct admission. The programme also aims
at enhancing the quality of life of students through the pursuit of
learning and the development of their potentials.
Structure
The curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad-based
education as well as concentration in one or two disciplines or
knowledge areas. It also includes a wide spectrum of endeavours
and options for students to enrich their learning experiences for
employment in a variety of careers and for continued specialized
studies. Students should complete a minimum of 65 units in the
