The other thing is I was hoping to get more senate involvement on RamRide and Positive Impact – RamRide is a lot of fun and it’s more fun when you do it alongside somebody you are acquainted with. X. Associate Senator Reports a. Seeing None XI. Executive Reports a. Sandora: Positive Impact was this weekend and we had one group and several volunteers from ASCSU. It went really well. We need volunteers for Thursday and Saturday for RamRide specifically this week. b. Jackson: I can answer all questions you have about finances. Everything is going great. SFB is going well – they’re new criteria is interesting so go check it out. I want to remind you that senate has a budget of around $1500. Come to me if you have any questions. Last year we did a senate outreach event at the bowling alley. It was a lot of fun and a great way to meet constituents. c. Brogdon: Student Services had the opportunity to partner with RDS so we could learn the fight song in sign language. Everyone stand up and try it. Grill the Buffs – Friday – pep rally starts at 10:45. We are also trying to get something else going at 10:45. If you signed up, I sent out a list of when you are volunteering. If you are interested in volunteering, come in the office tomorrow. Wear closed toed shoes, a short-sleeved green shirt, pants, and long hair must be pulled back. i. Ball: The time on the list for when I signed up was wrong ii. Brogdon: Please come see me and I will fix that iii. Shank: Are you aware that everyone’s numbers were sent out on that sheet? iv. Yes, we considered it a problem at first, but we realized that that information is available on the CSU website since we are a public university, so it wasn’t an issue. XII. Confidence Business a. Seeing None XIII. Committee Reports a. Lytle: I’m chairing University Issues. Meetings will be at Wednesdays at 5:30 before Senate in the ASCSU office b. Huntoon: I’m chairing the External Affairs Committee. We will be meeting Tuesday at 5:30 in the ASCSU Office. c. Eden: I forgot to mention my meetings will also be held in the ASCSU office. XIV. Old Business a. Seeing None XV. New Business a. Bill #4102—Green Book Reference 27-28 a. Berlinberg: I have a bill here to redefine elections manager positions. They organize the elections committee. We want to
change some things. Right now the elections manager is unable to serve in executive or judicial branch the year after they are the elections manager. We would like to change that. 2. Question and Answer: a. Ball: What made you want to change it? b. Berlinberg: There is no specific reason – it just doesn’t make sense to restrict someone from working the following year. Typically the elections manager puts in a lot of time and resources. Theoretically if they wanted to return to the position, they would be great. c. Shaughnessy: Is it a paid position? d. Berlingerg: Yes - $1000 from the date of hire to the date of the reading of the elections results. e. Eden: Why is this in place? f. Berlinberg: It’s so the newly elected members can’t take that elections manager and put him in a higher director position the next year. To me it just doesn’t make sense to restrict the elections manager. g. Berlinberg: I request that this get sent to all committee, and not see discussion and debate tonight, but take it to committee to discuss and then come back. h. Gutiuerrez: Is Andrew Ives interested? i. Berlinberg: No this bill was a recommendation in his term last year j. Harries: In the 3 rd whereas clause, I guess sometime we will have to hire someone without experience. Do you mind if we change that? k. Berlinberg: Not at all – I was just saying that we eliminate that learning curve if someone is rehired in the same position 3. Discussion and Debate: a. Shaughnessy: I think it might be appropriate to put “beneficial” instead of “vital” in the 3 rd clause. b. Eden: Unanimous consent to send this to all 3 committees. c. Shaughnessy: Point of information: How do we deal with committee changes if this goes to all 3? d. Shank: There are a lot of options. b. Bill #4103—Green Book Reference 23-24 a. Berlinberg: This one has an interesting story. Rachel and I got elected and we had a tough time figuring out this 10.5% payroll. We questioned whether the Administrative Assistant and the Front Desk Staff’s salaries are included in that 10.5%. It’s kind of vague, we just wanted to set it up so non-ratified positions
