are not part of that and that is clarified. We need to define
what a non-ratified position is. The only thing we could come
up was administrative support positions. They report to the
Admin assistant, not anyone else. I look to see if you want to
reword any of that. Another question was whether our
contracts are considered part of the budget, and it is included in
the total allocated budget.
2. Shaughnessy: Your current total budget was 2 million? What is the
current total for the non-ratified positions?
3. Berlinberg: Student payroll is $128,000 and front desk is 12,000 and
admin assistant is 43,000. We are getting closer to the 10.5% bar. We
want to make sure future administrations can do what they want. If you
want to change the 10.5% that’s fine. We toyed with 12% but I
ultimately decided not to change anything.
ii. If this could go to all 3 committees, that would be good. It’s not as important as
the other one, but it would be good to have it be seen.
1. Shank: I want to remind the body of the process of constitutional
amendments. This will require a second reading.
2. Eden: Unanimous consent to send this to all three committees.
XVI. Announcements
a. Eden: I just realized that I will not be here this Thursday or Friday. So for this first
meeting, I will move it to 7 on Tuesday. Sorry that’s a tough time to meet. The
committee of Internal Affairs will meet regularly on Thursdays, but next week only will
be Tuesday at 7.
b. Berlinberg: The Fall Address is on The Oval tomorrow. It’s the state of university
address. Come by and get free food. The ASCSU Alumni council keeps tabs on what we
are doing and provides great advice for us. Every year during homecoming, we have an
ASCSU alumni event in the upper level of the solarium. We mix and mingle and get to
know people. Next Tuesday, we will be doing a call-a-thon for current students to call
alumni to invite them to the alumni event the 30 th . About 5 alumni members will be
there Tuesday.
c. Harries: Since we have 2 pieces of legislation, it’s important that we all attend a
committee meeting to make the process go a lot quicker. The more people we have the
easier it is going to be to get through this legislation.
d. Roberson: During this meeting, the ex elections manager sent out an email to the list
serve. Senate always gets overlooked and I would like someone on that task force
because it is important for all of you and will impact you. Seek myself or Andrew or
Andy. Pacesetters are due Friday – we have extended the deadline. It’s a big deal. We
are hoping to get former President Yates involved because the money you will be
getting is from him. I have had 0 senate applications this far.
i. Roche: Who are we playing this year?
ii. Roberson: San Jose
