Senator Hatch attended Baldwin Public High School and continued on Brigham Young<br />
University, where he received his B.A. in history in 1959. He then earned his J.D. from the<br />
University of Pittsburgh in 1962.<br />
Orrin Grant Hatch was born on March 22, 1934, to Jesse and Helen Hatch. He married<br />
Elaine Hansen of Newton, <strong>Utah</strong> in 1957. Senator and Elaine Hatch are the proud parents of<br />
six children, twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.<br />

Lee graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Political<br />
Science, and served as BYU's Student Body President in his senior year. He graduated from<br />
BYU's Law School in 1997 and went on to serve as law clerk to Judge Dee Benson of the<br />
U.S. District Court for the District of <strong>Utah</strong>, and then with future Supreme Court Justice Judge<br />
Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.<br />
Lee spent several years as an attorney with the law firm Sidley & Austin specializing in<br />
appellate and Supreme Court litigation, and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Salt<br />
Lake City arguing cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.<br />
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two-year<br />
mission for the Church in the Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Chris is one of ten children and grew up on a dairy farm in Cache Valley. He graduated from<br />
<strong>Utah</strong> State University, where he earned his degree in economics. Upon graduation, Chris<br />
joined the United States Air Force where he was the Distinguished Graduate (top of his class)<br />
in both Officer Training School and Undergraduate Pilot Training. He served for fourteen<br />
years as a pilot in the Air Force, flying both rescue helicopters and the B-1B bomber. He<br />
holds three world speed records, including the world’s record for the fastest non-stop flight<br />
around the world.<br />
Chris is a prolific author having written 16 books, several of which have become national<br />
best-sellers, and have been published in six different countries.<br />
Before being elected to Congress, Chris served as president and CEO of the Shipley Group,<br />
a nationally recognized firm for consulting expertise in energy and the environment.

Mr. Chaffetz, who grew up in California, Arizona, and Colorado, was invited to <strong>Utah</strong> in the<br />
mid-1980s by the legendary Brigham Young University football coach LaVell Edwards to be a<br />
placekicker. His years at BYU literally transformed his life.<br />
After a successful football career that included two years as the starting placekicker and two<br />
school records, Mr. Chaffetz earned a degree in communications and married Julie Johnson<br />
of Mesa, Arizona.
