Rica Arctic Hotel, Kirkenes Hurtigruten cabin VOYAGE TO THE TOP OF EUROPE Stunningly beautiful and simply awe-inspiring, the spectacular fjords are what everyone first thinks of when they think of Norway. And today one of the best ways to witness the wonders of the Norwegian coastline is from the deck of a Hurtigruten ship. On this small section of the Hurtigruten route, you will have an opportunity not only to sample a two-night voyage but also to visit North Cape, the most northerly point of mainland Europe! Your full-board voyage aboard the Hurtigruten begins with an evening (18:30) departure from Tromsø, sailing towards the North Cape and Kirkenes. You overnight on board in your own cabin (based on two sharing). Early risers will be able to take a brief stroll around Hammerfest, the most northerly town in the world, before the Hurtigruten continues to the fishing community of Honningsvåg. From here, you set off an included excursion to the spectacular North Cape, the most northerly point of mainland Europe. Planning a tailor-made holiday You can combine your mini Hurtigruten cruise with a city break in the vibrant city of Tromso, where history and spectacle combine with the relaxed delights of a town that knows how to party! Upon returning to the Hurtigruten, the ship continues its northerly voyage, while you enjoy dinner and another night in your cabin, arriving in Kirkenes at 09:45. You will spend at least one night here in Kirkenes, depending on your itinerary, and there is a range of optional excursions available. After your final night in Kirkenes, you will be transferred to Kirkenes airport for your return journey to the UK. HURTIGRUTEN SHIP Hurtigruten ships offer a wide range of comfortable cabins. They vary in size and location, sometimes within the same grade. As a general rule, outside cabins on the higher decks have a picture window while the ones on the lower decks have portholes. Options normally include standard and superior cabins, suites and special cabins for disabled access. n Why we chose it: Simply put, a Hurtigruten voyage along Norway’s spectacular coastline represents one of life’s don’t-miss experiences.
