DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br />

Under the overall supervision of the head of the CITS Service Desk, the incumbent will be<br />

responsible for the following duties:<br />

Assist end-users and technical staff;<br />

Answer calls and emails to the CITS Service Desk in a prompt and professional manner;<br />

Provide first-line troubleshooting support;<br />

Enter, assign and record service requests (SRs) in the CITS Request System (CRS);<br />

Resolve / complete SRs in a efficient manner;<br />

Escalate the SR to L2, L3, UNRSC, 3rd parties and/or CITS management as needed;<br />

Provide on-going updates to end-users during the SR troubleshooting and resolution<br />

process – advising them of the progress, anticipated time to completion and any<br />

deviations from previous communications;<br />

Upload all relevant documentation in the CRS for all Close resolved/completed SRs.<br />

Fulfills authorized requests associated with CITS equipment, services and applications<br />

With authorization, provides network, eMail and Application Access to new staff and<br />

existing end-users;<br />

Maintain, update & test CITS-approved images for all supported computing devices;<br />

Backup and restore user data for migration to a different computing device;<br />

Prepare (images) PCs and laptops for deployment and return to warehouse or Assets;<br />

Prepare & test VDI zero- and thin-clients for deployment;<br />

Install, troubleshoot and support UN-endorsed end-user OS’s and applications, including<br />

Windows and iOS, Lotus Notes, MS Office, Symantec Endpoint and Cisco VPN clients;<br />

Install / register and provide basic troubleshooting support for IP phones (desktop &<br />

mobile) and Blackberry devices;<br />

Escalate SIM, PIN, mobile device and telephone billing issues to Assets, L2 or Back Office<br />

as required;<br />

Coordinate with end-user and VTC technician for scheduling, bridging and other<br />

advanced requirements;<br />

Modify VLANs as required<br />

Assess and repair basic hardware problems (desktops, laptops, HP printers &<br />

multifunction devices);<br />

Escalate to Assets for additional vendor assessment, cost estimates and repair (under<br />

warranty or as authorized).<br />

Perform other duties as assigned<br />

QUALIFICATIONS<br />

Education:<br />

High School diploma or equivalent. A combination of relevant certification/diploma or other<br />

academic qualifications/training is desirable. Technical certificates or college degrees are an<br />

advantage.<br />

Experience:<br />

At least five (5) years of progressively responsive work experience in the same or related field.<br />

Languages:<br />

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post<br />

advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United<br />

Nations language and/or the local language is an advantage. The candidate must be able to write<br />

and correct working documents in English language.<br />

Other Skills:<br />

Knowledge of ADS and eMail application is required<br />

Knowledge of Cisco switches and related devices is required<br />

A valid driver’s license for a light motor vehicle, including 4x4 and manual transmission is<br />

required;<br />
