You can sharpen an image by increasing contrast, enhancing image edges or<br />

reducing shading using a filter. The original image at the top has been<br />

sharpened using the following filters, from left to right: Tune sharpen, High<br />

pass, Directional sharpen, Sharpen, and Unsharp mask.<br />

To sharpen selected areas by applying brush strokes<br />

1 Open the Brush tools flyout , and click the Effect<br />

tool .<br />

2 On the property bar, open the Effect tool picker, and click the<br />

Sharpen tool .<br />

3 Choose a brush from the Brush type box.<br />

4 Choose a nib from the Nib shape list box.<br />

5 Move the Nib size slider.<br />

6 Type a value in the Amount box to set the intensity of the<br />

stroke.<br />

7 Drag across an image area.<br />

You can sharpen image areas using the Sharpen tool.<br />
