For the first me in public - at the occasion of the ACHEMA 2012 - the <strong>Arnold</strong> Group presented a compact manufacturing<br />
cell for joining, forming and cung glass tubes via laser beam. As a worldwide leading manufacturer of<br />
thermal glass processing machines for the laboratory and special glass industry we are offering our customers, who<br />
are interested in high technology, an innovave alternave for the usually used gas burners.<br />

The laser excels by short processing mes and a high reproducibility of heang process. High producon quality and<br />
very good possibility to automate the glass fabricaon do not exclusively influence posively the producon but<br />
also lower costs considerably. The process data we have gathered during a mul-year lasng research programme<br />
for joining glass tubes via laser done in collaboraon with the laser centre in Hannover (LZH) have proven an enormous<br />
raise in capacity of up to 75%.<br />
The intelligent sensor technology and process control, developed by <strong>Arnold</strong>, guarantees a stable process with minimum<br />
gap tolerances – for instance by automated posioning of each single workpiece in the joining area, even in<br />
case of producon tolerances of the workpieces.<br />

Our cell concepts are based on our standardized modular<br />
construcon system for glass processing machines.<br />
Upon request the basic machines can be supplied<br />
with respecve forming tools, automaon concepts<br />
for automac loading and unloading of machines and<br />
with the laser. There are radiaon sources of laser<br />
units available with a capacity range of 400 W up to<br />
4.0 kW.<br />
