On behalf of the <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>Coyotes</strong>, welcome to the 2012-13 National Hockey League<br />

season. Since 1996-97, the <strong>Coyotes</strong> have produced some of the Valley’s top sports stories<br />

and we expect the excitement to continue this year. As we enter our 16th year (15th<br />

season) in the Valley of the Sun, we hope to make your job covering the <strong>Coyotes</strong> as easy<br />

and as pleasant as possible. In order to help our operation run smoothly and make your jobs<br />

easier, we ask that you follow the guidelines:<br />

MEDIA CREDENTIALS:<br />

Media credentials are issued to working media only. The media entrance at Jobing.<br />

com Arena is Gate 1, located in the southwest corner of the arena. The media entrance<br />

and media will-call window will be open three hours prior to the start of each game. All<br />

credentials are non-transferable, and any unauthorized use will subject the bearer to<br />

ejection from Jobing.com Arena and confiscation of the credential. All media are required<br />

to display credentials when entering the media lounge, press box and dressing room areas<br />

and must wear their credentials throughout the game. Season media passes will be issued<br />

to established newspapers, television and radio stations, websites and magazines. Please<br />

contact Chris Wojcik at chris.wojcik@phoenixcoyotes.com for credential requests.<br />

INDIVIDUAL GAME PASSES:<br />

Individual game credentials should be requested through the media relations department<br />

at least 24 hours prior to game time. Please email greg.dillard@phoenixcoyotes.com.<br />

Pre-arranged passes must be picked up at the media entrance at Gate 1, located in the<br />

southwest corner of Jobing.com Arena. Credentials will be issued on an availability only<br />

basis.<br />

PRE-GAME ACCESS:<br />

NHL dressing rooms are not open prior to game time. Requests for interviews prior to<br />

the game will be accommodated upon the approval of the players and coach involved.<br />

However, NHL regulations allow for a maximum of three players per team to be made<br />

available upon request up to 90 minutes before the game. <strong>Coyotes</strong> players will be made<br />

available from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. start and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00<br />

p.m. for a 6:00 p.m. start. The ideal time for game day interviews is at the morning skate,<br />

held each game-day morning (10:30 a.m.) at Jobing.com Arena or the Ice Den in Scottsdale<br />

(practice times are subject to change).<br />

POST-GAME ACCESS:<br />

Both the <strong>Coyotes</strong> and the visitor’s dressing rooms will be open no later than five minutes<br />

after each game. Media will have access to the players for 30 minutes after the rooms<br />

are opened. Only working media with official credentials will be allowed into the dressing<br />

rooms. Following the player media access, the <strong>Coyotes</strong> head coach will be available for<br />

post-game comments in the interview room, located between the <strong>Coyotes</strong>’ dressing room<br />

and the visiting dressing room. The NHL officials’ locker room is off limits to the media. If<br />

a comment or interpretation from the game’s referee or NHL supervisor is required, a pool<br />

reporter may be assigned. NO AUTOGRAPHS ALLOWED DURING MEDIA ACCESS PERIODS.<br />

DAILY PRACTICES:<br />

<strong>Coyotes</strong> practices will be held at Jobing.com Arena or the Ice Den in Scottsdale. All practices<br />

are open to the media. For up-to-date information on practice times and locations, please<br />

email Chris Wojcik at chris.wojcik@phoenixcoyotes.com.<br />

PRESS BOX ACCESS:<br />

The Keilback Press Box at Jobing.com Arena is located on the west side of the building on<br />

level 7. A designated press elevator is located next to the press lounge and provides access<br />

to the press box. Please see seating chart for assigned seats.<br />

BROADCAST BOOTH POSITIONS:<br />

All broadcast positions are located in the main press box of Jobing.com Arena. Please see<br />

seating chart for assigned booths.<br />

GAME NOTES/ONLINE PRESS BOX:<br />

Complete sets of game notes, NHL statistics and news releases will be made available in the<br />

media lounge as well as in the press box at Jobing.com Arena. In addition, the <strong>Coyotes</strong> Online<br />

Press Box can be accessed at: http://www.phoenixcoyotes.com/media. T<strong>here</strong> you will find game<br />

notes and news releases as well as audio and video interviews. The Online Press Box also<br />

includes the team media guide, roster, season statistics, regular season schedule, and more.<br />

Media members may use the following username and password to enter the online press box:<br />

PHOTOGRAPHY:<br />

Photo credentials will also be issued in the same manner as other passes. Weekly papers<br />

and magazines on assignment may obtain passes by having the photo editor request a<br />

single game credential. The <strong>Coyotes</strong> team photographer, Norm Hall, will assign photo<br />

positions. Photographers should check in with Mr. Hall or a member of his staff in the<br />

media lounge prior to game time. All photographers must comply with space assignments<br />

and shooting regulations. Photographers must shoot from designated areas only. Should<br />

photographers require any additional information regarding equipment (i.e. strobes), please<br />

PHONES/STATISTICIANS:<br />

Media are provided with working phones, high speed internet lines and wireless internet<br />

access in the press box and media work room. Should you require an additional phone<br />

line at Jobing.com Arena, please contact a member of the <strong>Coyotes</strong>’ media relations staff.<br />

Statisticians are available to assist television broadcasters by contacting <strong>Coyotes</strong> Director<br />

of Broadcasting Doug Cannon at (623) 772-3217 or doug.cannon@phoenixcoyotes.com.<br />

These services should be arranged at least 24 hours prior to the game.<br />

Media parking for <strong>Coyotes</strong> games at Jobing.com Arena is available in the Renaissance<br />

Parking Garage (levels 2 & 3) directly across from Gate 1 or in Lot E located near the<br />

southwest corner of the arena. Show your media credential or station/newspaper<br />

identification for access.<br />
