Leadership by Example The Shaw Group’s Nuclear Division (Shaw) offers a broad range of nuclear services based on more than 60 years of nuclear industry leadership. Nuclear Engineering Shaw has engineered/constructed 18 nuclear plants in the U.S. Shaw maintains ASME-III (N) certifi cations and is providing engineering services to 43 nuclear power plant operating units. Piping, Tank, and Structural Steel Fabrication Shaw, a world leader in pipe fabrication, supplied piping to 58 of the 104 operating nuclear power units in the U.S. and is certifi ed by ASME to perform all activities required for nuclear plant construction. Plant Completions and Restarts Shaw played a signifi cant role in the successful completion of Tennessee Valley Authority’s Browns Ferry Unit 1 restart project. Building on our extensive experience in plant completion and restart projects worldwide, we provide a broad range of maintenance, modifi cations, and construction services. Plant Uprates and Upgrades With over 25 years of experience and more than 2050 MWe added to the U.S. grid, Shaw is a power uprate industry leader. We have performed uprates and studies on 48 operating PWR and BWR nuclear units. Maintenance and Modifications Shaw is the largest provider of commercial nuclear power plant maintenance and modifi cations services in the U.S., with active contracts covering approximately 40 percent of the operating units and the record for the shortest nuclear refueling outage. Spent Fuel Dry Storage Shaw designs, licenses, and constructs ISFSIs; performs spent fuel management studies; and provides fuel movement and cask loading and handling services. Shaw performed design, licensing, and project management for the Private Fuel Storage Facility in Utah. We were recently awarded a contract to expand the used fuel storage capacity at First Energy Corporation’s Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Decontamination and Decommissioning Shaw has provided D&D services to 8 commercial nuclear reactors, 7 research reactors, and 1 U.S. Army reactor, as well as nuclear facility decommissioning services at 10 government facilities. Shaw completed decommissioning of Maine Yankee and Connecticut Yankee. New Plant and Advanced Reactor Design and Construction From the detailed design of the National Enrichment Facility in New Mexico, to design and construction of the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility at Savannah River Site, to engineering support for the Lungmen nuclear power plant in Taiwan, Shaw is a leading provider of nuclear design/construction services worldwide. AP1000 Consortium The Shaw/Westinghouse Consortium was selected to build the fi rst four reactors in China’s 30-reactor nuclear power expansion program. The four plants are to be constructed in pairs on China’s eastern coast at Sanmen in Zhejiang province, and Haiyang in Shandong province. These will be the fi rst installations of the AP1000 generation III reactors.
