Dear Parents and Caregivers
New school uniform items are just days away.
In the meantime, 350 new entrants have been
in our Uniform Shop on site to have their
fittings taken, with more appointments in the
weeks to come.
Feedback has been one of excitement and
new entrants really looking forward to joining
us in the New Year. They will certainly be looking
smarter than ever before and feeling comfortable.
Images in this newsletter are just a snapshot
of what is on its way. The actual garments are
far more impressive than photos and students
in Year 11 and 12 will be able to view them
once they get back to school.
More information is displayed in the Uniform
Shop and senior students interested in purchasing
garments for 2013 are encouraged to
call in during operating hours. Uniform Group
staff have installed an online, point of sale
system where they will know exactly which
students have purchased which sizes etc. Packages
have been put together too.
Most importantly, our national representatives
will have access to uniforms that make
them feel proud to be Westlake Girls!
By 2015, a sea of red garments will dominate
the local landscape .

IMPORTANT UNIFORM INFORMATION
Phased introduction for the new W.G.H.S uniform
What can you expect in 2013
Year 9
All new entrants will wear the new WGHS uniform
(with one exception: younger siblings of students currently at WGHS, may opt to wear the old green uniform
only if parents want them to. However, these students will be expected to wear the new senior uniform from
2016.
Year 10
Year 10 remain in existing uniform
(Please note: Y10 students selected to represent the school nationally in any discipline eg. Choralation may access
the new WGHS uniform and be asked to do so).
Year 11
Year 11 remain in existing uniform
(Please note: Y11 students selected to represent the school nationally in any discipline may access new WGHS
senior options and be asked to do so).
* Year 11 may opt to access senior options from Term Four 2013 provided the supply of the new uniform is going
to plan. OR Y11 may remain in their existing uniform until they leave the school in 2015. If they are selected
as a Prefect or national representative, they may be asked to move into the new senior options by the staff
member in charge of that discipline.
There will be no mixing old with new garments.
Year 12
Year 12 may opt for new WGHS senior options
*National and international titles holders in Y12 will be encouraged to wear new WGHS senior options.
Year 13
There will be no mufti. Year 13 may wear either the new senior uniform, their existing uniform OR
Y13 alternative shirt/ skirt, or until stocks last
* Prefects (approximately 56 students) – will be expected to purchase blazer, one skirt and two shirts. They will
be awarded a prefects tie and prefects blazer pocket at end of year prize giving.
All seniors who are national and regional representatives may purchase senior options but must purchase the
entire uniform, not parts of it - blazer, one skirt and one shirt.
