A special congratulation must also go to Matt Wall for becoming the first driver to
claim a National Championship in every major category of the sport, after seeing off
no less than 10 current or former National Champions on his way to the Clubman
Heavy Title. Wall has the rare distinction of claiming Australian titles in Clubman,
Rotax, Leopard, Senior National, Formula 100 and Formula Australia categories. It
was very nearly another Arrow 1-2 as Bart Price held second position for most of the
Final until losing a plug lead, which dropped the former National Champion back to
12 th place. Wall was however joined in the Final top 10 by fellow Arrow drivers Lee
Mitchener, Dale Verrall and Jason Varley.
The ever consistent David Sera added another National Title to his growing collection
after a hard fought win in the Clubman Light class. Sera battled throughout the Final
with fellow Arrow driver Ben Stewart and the pair were close enough to make
contact on the final corner of the race, however it was the experience of Sera that
stood atop the Final podium, a pleasing 1-2 for Arrow Racing Karts. Steven Scoble
made the long journey from Western Australia to ensure Arrow was well represented
in the top 10 with a 6 th placed finish respectively. It was the second National Title
awarded to Sera over the weekend as the Arrow driver was finally recognised for his
winning performance in the Leopard Light class during the 2007 National
Championships held at Eastern Creek.
