INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
INVOLVING PRIVATE SERVICE PROVIDERS UNDER SURAKHIT JANEPA YOJNA
(SJY)
1.0 Surakhit Janepa Yojna is a scheme being implemented under NRHM Punjab,
where private nursing homes and hospitals are being empanelled through financing
mechanism for providing institutional delivery services free of cost among BPL,SC/ST
pregnant women. The accredited private Institute were being reimbursed at an average
fixed rate of Rs.2500/- per delivery conducted (Normal, Complicated or caesarean).
2.0 Despite good infrastructure, non availability of specialists and Female Medical
Officer in certain health institution is a major hindrance in ensuring service availability in
these areas.
In order to bridge the gap of unavailability of manpower in underserved districts
in health institutions (PHCs, CHCs) in certain, underserved districts, state intends to
revise Surakhit Janepa Yojna in these districts.
3.0 In underserved districts like Barnala, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Mansa, Moga,
Muktsar, Nawanshahar, Ropar, Sangrur & Tarn Taran, the average fixed rate per
delivery has been revised to Rs.4000/- per delivery conducted (normal, complicated or
caesarean).
4.0 In remaining district i.e. Amritsar, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot,
Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mohali and Patiala, SJY Scheme will be
implemented at earlier rates i.e. @Rs.2500/- per delivery.
5.0 Interested Private Service Providers: Trusts/NGOs/Nursing Homes who are
willing to join under this scheme may request for SJY Guidelines from the Civil Surgeon

of the concerned district on any working day and can also be downloaded from website
i.e.www.pbnrhm.org.
6.0 Expression of interest by various agencies with complete information as per the
check list for the accreditation of private institution as mentioned in the SJY Guidelines
should reach in an envelope inscribing “LETTER OF INTEREST INVOLVING PRIVATE
SERVICE PROVIDERS UNDER SURAKHIT JANEPA YOJNA (SJY)” addressed to
Chairperson, District Health Society in concerned Civil Surgeon’s Office. This offer will
remain open till adequate numbers of APIs are engaged.
7.0 Private Institutions already accredited under the scheme may also revisit the SJY
Guidelines for the future implementation of scheme.
