Zodiac inflatables are rugged and tough, quick to deploy and
fast on the water. They need low engine power, are light and
virtually uncapsizable making them the safest boats in their
class. They carry heavy loads on plane, but still pack into a bag
to be easily transported.
Incorporated into their design are ease of maintenance and
reparability to keep their mean time to repair cycle low and
workable. 90% of all parts are interchangeable between the
different Zodiac inflatable boat ranges which lowers your
maintenance cost.
Our 4 ranges of inflatable boats differ widely in design and
specifications so as to bring the right answers to specific
requirements and fit various mission profiles and demanding uses.
- The right boat for the right use -
Zodiac semi-rigid boats scan a comprehensive spectrum of
sea going utility boats, from your everyday small “gofer” boat,
to larger utility or yard patrol boats, to large RIBs that can run
down anything they care to chase. Their solid “no frills” deep “V”
construction is made to handle heavy seas. Seats and consoles
can be secured almost anywhere on deck. Hypalon/Neoprene
buoyancy tubes guarantee longevity and hard marine use.
RIBs combine the best of both worlds: The added buoyancy
of their tubes that protect their own hulls as well as other hulls
while coming along-side or boarding, and their rigid hulls
ensure a comfortable, safe and faster ride either in choppy
harbour waters or in offshore formed seas.
Hurricane Cabin boats have been designed to carry 2-6 persons in comfort. Some of the typical missions are: Aids to
Navigation, Fisheries Patrol, Harbor Security, First Responders and Law Enforcement. The rugged buoyancy tube and highly
responsive hulls allow safe operations in heavy weather while still having comfort in a fully enclosed heated cabin.
Special boats and optional
Making the difference
Zodiac offers a wide range of options, accessories and optional systems,
Photo: Zodiac
Modular Inflatable Boat
(MIB)
Zodiac inflatable boats can be fitted
with jockey seats and consoles and
offer as much as a RIB can offer, with
the added value of being easily
disassembled, packed and transported.
The Quickfit system allows fitting jockey seats and steering
consoles on inflatable boats, removing them in a snap without any
tools, everything being manually clipped-on or hooked. The transom
can also be equipped with a quick release shoe, so the engine can
be removed without the use of any tools.
Photo: Zodiac
Minuteman
The Minuteman inflatable boat
series, as the name implies,
enables first responders to get a
fully capable inflatable boat from
pack to operational state in less
than 60 seconds. The
Minuteman can be inflated from a source of compressed air
(SCUBA bottle) and requires no assembly thanks to its
Duratane PU high pressure inflatable deck. Either using
paddles or a 30hp engine, the 67kg Minuteman can be
launched easily and quickly to help prevent drowning in any
body of water. Its unique patented Rapid Access Door (RAD)
and accessories make it the ideal boat for diving or search
and rescue missions.
Durafit and
Quickfit
These unique systems are
designed for a quick attachment
and removal of components
such as seats, bolsters, storage
lockers and other accessories to the deck, which allows a
Zodiac RIB to have many different configurations and to fit
various mission profiles.
Photo: Zodiac
Rapid Access
Door (RAD)
A smaller diameter part of the
buoyancy tube, developed to
facilitate the access to the boat
from the water or to rescue men
overboard. Thanks to this new
design, search & rescue missions can be performed faster and
safer, and safety at sea is generally increased.
Diver-Door
Photo: Zodiac
DuraRib foam collar
A patented system which upgrades
an inflatable buoyancy tube to a foam
filled one and keeps 100% of its shape
and function, even if punctured.
Photo: Zodiac
A patented system of being able
to remove a section of the
buoyancy tube to facilitate the
re-entry of divers into the boat,
Marine Mammals or an injured
body from being lifted over
the side of the boat, as the Diver-
Door is located at the water level.
WrapAround collar
Armorflate
Photo: Zodiac
A patented system which extends
the buoyancy tube behind the boat
and engines, to increase the boat’s
aft buoyancy, especially when
launching and recovering from
a stern ramp of a ship.
Photo: Zodiac
This patented system provides anti
ballistic protection for the passengers,
crew, engine and vital components of
the boat. It is deployed easily and
quickly and can be configured for
protection against various armaments.
SafeLift
A patented lift point that is recessed into the deck of a RIB.
The lifting sling is easily attached to the swivel eye which is
normally flush with the deck when not in use thus avoiding a
significant trip hazard and a safety issue.
Photo: Zodiac
SMS (Shock
Mitigation Systems)
Zodiac takes the subject of crew
injuries and crew fatigue seriously.
These are the effects of operating high
speed crafts for long periods of time in
severe sea conditions. Even though Zodiac RIBs are inherently
shock mitigating due to their buoyancy tube design, Zodiac offers
some stand alone systems as optional equipment, including seats,
bolsters, suspension systems, sprung flooring and supports.
Autoflate
This patented system allows the operational air pressure inside
the buoyancy tube to be maintained automatically by a 12 volt
inflation pump, activated by a sensor. It is activated by a switch on
the dash board, ensuring that each chamber is maintained at the
required air pressure during navigation thanks to the exclusive
Zodiac Intercommunicating valve.
Thermal-cover
This patented system allows for the engines to be covered by an
insulating material that reduces the heat signature of the boat.
