Thank you for your request for information regarding the policy and statistics for vaginal
1. Please supply a copy of the Trust's policy regarding vaginal birth after
Caesarean section (VBAC).
2. Please supply a list of any exclusions/restrictions the Trust would apply to a
VBAC i.e. would you accommodate home births, water births, access to your
Please see attachment 2 & 3
3. Please advise on how these practice points alter (if at all) should the VBAC
follow multiple Caesarean sections.
Please see attachment 1
4. Please provide:
for maternity care
574
(ii) The number of those women who attempted a VBAC
Please be advised that the Trust is unable to supply the data in the format requested as
it is not held centrally by the Trust and would require a manual search which would
exceed the £450 limit for an FOI request. Therefore exemption 12 (1) of the Freedom
of Information Act applies to this request.
(iii) The number of those women who achieved a vaginal birth
148
birth and how many in repeat Caesarean section, to the extent not already covered
under 4(a) above
