To prevent heat damage to the driver's side brake line, you will need<br />
to move the brake line away from the new pipe.<br />
• Secure the brake line away from the new tailpipe by using a plastic tie<br />
strap to attach the driver's side brake line to the differential breather tube.<br />
• Make sure the brake line does not bind or become damaged during<br />
normal suspension travel.<br />
• Recheck the clearances after installation to make sure the brake line is<br />
located away from the tailpipe.<br />

To improve the appearance of the exhaust tips follow the recommended installation tips.<br />

1. After installing the tailpipes, leave the tailpipe hangers loosely attached.<br />
2. Slide the new tip onto the tailpipe until the outlet of the tip is properly positioned under the bumper.<br />
3. Make a mark on the pipe where the inlet of the tip begins.(See illustration)<br />
4. Remove the tip from the tailpipe.<br />
5. Measure 3 inches to the pipe outlet from the mark you made and make a cut mark. (See illustration)<br />
6. Cut the pipe at the cut mark and then reinstall the tip with a clamp or by welding the tip to the pipe.<br />
7. Tighten the tailpipe hangers and secure the clamps.<br />
8. Check the pipes for clearance and adjust the hangers if needed.<br />
9. Start the engine and inspect the system for leaks.<br />

Out the back exit exhaust systems should only be<br />
used on pickups that do not have camper shells<br />
or where the camper shells are not used to carry<br />
people or animals. On SUVs, station wagons and<br />
vans, deadly carbon monoxide can be drawn into the<br />
passenger compartment through small openings,<br />
gasket leaks, or side windows. Even a small leak can<br />
allow a significant and dangerous amount of exhaust<br />
gasses into the vehicle.<br />
When driving an SUV, station wagon, van, or pickup<br />
truck with a camper shell, we suggest you order a side-out exhaust system.<br />
Also, if you tow a trailer with an out the back system, you may find a soot build-up and may want to consider a side-out system.
