3. <strong>Victorian</strong> <strong>Dual</strong> <strong>Diagnosis</strong> <strong>Initiative</strong><br />

strong focus on building capacity within <strong>the</strong> services to respond more effectively to people with a dual<br />

diagnosis.<br />

Primary and secondary consultation services to alcohol and drug, mental health and PDRS service<br />

providers are for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> providing assessments and making recommendations about <strong>the</strong><br />

management <strong>of</strong> dual diagnosis clients, but responsibility for ongoing client management remains with<br />

<strong>the</strong> relevant mainstream service.<br />

The following map illustrates <strong>the</strong> geographical coverage <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> four metropolitan teams as per<br />

<strong>the</strong> legend in Figure 3-2.<br />
