CONFESSION

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the
Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and
blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let
him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats
and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment
to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper
14 When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him..
15 Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this
Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it
until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 Then He took the cup, and gave
thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I
will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And
He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My
body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new
covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. 21 But behold, the hand of My
betrayer is with Me on the table. 22 And truly the Son of Man goes as it has
been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!” 23 Then they
began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this
thing.

SEDRA
• L. O Creator of Heaven and Earth, who made Adam, male and female. In
the Garden of Eden, You mysteriously created us from the dust of the
earth, eternally redeemed us by making us in the image of God, and
sustained us by sacrificing Your breath so that we might breathe through
You. When we rebelled and sinned against You, we became ashamed of
ourselves and tried to hide. Yet, You called us out of the darkness of
hiding and into the light of Your unconditional love. In the vast expanse of
the sky, You painted a rainbow with all the colors of the human race; a
reminder to us that it is not Your desire to see creation perish. In Jesus,
You have granted us pardon from our sins and liberation from bondage. In
Christ, You have prepared the Lamb of God as a Holy Sacrifice. We praise
You for creating the first Adam as a living being and redeeming us through
the second Adam who gives us life through the Holy Spirit. We will offer
praise and thanksgiving to You, to the Father and to the Holy Spirit both
now and forever.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER
L: We pray for a spirit of invitation that inspires the church, regardless of
the cost, to create a space where all can be welcome around the TABLE to
REMEMBER our common identity in Jesus Christ.

stand up and refute long standing prejudice and discrimination so that we
might WASH THE FEET of those who are outcast and condemned by
mainstream society.

zone and pray “THY WILL BE DONE” so that comprehensive programs for
