PHX to CLT, DCA or PHL
CLT, DCA or PHL to PHX
• Crew Management Systems:
o When transferring to CLT, DCA or PHL your schedule and associated records will
convert to the CATCREW system, and you will receive an East payroll number
o When transferring to PHX, your schedule and associated records will convert to the
Maestro system, and you will receive a West C#
• CATCREW or Maestro Home Access:
o After your transfer award, we will be transitioning your records to reflect your appropriate
base information. Within a few days of your transfer award, you will be able to move
forward with setting up your home access to either CATCREW or Maestro. In your award
letter, you will be supplied with an access ID and an initial password. The registration
process may be completed with FLICA at www.flica.net. PHX transfers requesting
access to the Maestro system must select “America West” from the drop-down list. For
assistance with the registration process, you may call the FLICA help desk at 800-659-
9859.
• Training:
o PHX to CLT/DCA/PHL: It will be necessary for you to complete qualification training on
the A330, E190, B767 and International Service (IST) prior to the effective bid month. If
you are on a leave of absence, you may not attend training until you have been released
to return to work. CATCREW workshops will be offered for all transfers with more
information included in your award letter.
o
CLT/DCA/PHL to PHX: There are no additional equipment qualifications necessary;
however, Maestro workshops will be offered for all transfers with more information
included in your award letter.
• Company ID:
o A new Company ID will be issued and available for pick up in your new base. It will have
your new Crew Scheduling number on the back.
• Benefits:
o Within 31 days of the date of the transfer, all flight attendants currently enrolled in
Medical, Dental and Insurance policies must visit www.ebenefitsus.com to re-enroll for
benefit coverage. CLT, DCA and PHL flight attendants transferring to PHX will need to
enroll for medical benefits under the current West program. PHX flight attendants
transferring to CLT, DCA or PHL will need to enroll for medical benefits under the current
East program.
o A comparative chart detailing the differences between East and West medical plans may
be found on Wings at the following location:
http://wings.usairways.com/uswings/workgroups/inflight/linesandpairings
o
Additional links to provide information regarding medical plans are listed below:

http://wings.usairways.com/uswings/benefits/summary_plan_descriptions
o Important Note Regarding Payment of Benefits: As a result of different benefit plans,
benefit costs and the benefit election timeframe provided to transfers, there may be a
need to make adjusts for the difference in benefit costs in the paycheck following the
transfer date. Benefits Administration will audit the benefit deductions of all Flight
Attendant transfers throughout the remainder of the year. Payroll will attempt to make all
necessary adjustments within 30 days of the transfer. All audit findings (whether a
collection or refund) will be noted on each Flight Attendant’s record for our Benefits
Center to provide specific calculated amounts when requested. Impacted employees
can contact the Benefits Center by calling (888) 860-6178. If there are general questions,
email US Airways Benefits Administration at employee.benefits@usairways.com.
• Vacation:
o Flight attendants transferring during the calendar year 2013 will continue to maintain
vacations previously awarded at her/his new domicile and the daily rate will be pursuant
to the provisions of the agreement for your new base.
o Due to the vacation differences in PHX, East flight attendants requesting a transfer to
PHX will have the following two options:
• Option 1: Maintain your current East vacation on the dates you were awarded
• Option 2: A flight attendant may participate in the Shuffle Bid if she/he has seven
(7) or more consecutive days to rebid. However, prior to the shuffle process, a
flight attendant who holds seven (7) or more days and participates in the shuffle
bid will have his/her days realigned to the closest week as defined on the west
vacation matrix.
Example: Flight Attendant Jane has vacation scheduled for September 19-25;
however, the west matrix weeks are September 18-24 and September 25-31.
Jane will be realigned to September 18-24.
Once a flight attendant opts to participate in the Shuffle Bid, he/she would need
to agree to the days being permanently realigned to the week that contains the
most number of days from his/her originally scheduled vacation. If the flight
attendant is not successful in the Shuffle bid, the realigned days will remain intact
as long as he/she remains in PHX. In order to request this realignment of days
and participate in the Shuffle Bid, he/she must contact Bid Administration in PHX.
If a flight attendant transfers back to the East and did not rebid (Shuffle)
successfully, his/her vacation will revert back to his/her original East vacation at
the time they transferred from the East to the West.
• Filler Days/Unscheduled Days
o As PHX does not have a filler day option, any filler days previously awarded on the East
will be converted to unscheduled days. Unscheduled days must be bid in periods of
seven (7) or more consecutive days unless the total unscheduled days are less than
seven (7) days and in that case the total days must be bid as a single group.
• End-of-the-Month Transition Trips
o PHX to CLT/DCA/PHL: If you have a transition trip that continues past the first of the
contract month in your new base, you will be provided the following options to prevent

any flying activity after the transfer effective date in a different scheduling and payroll
system.
• Drop the trip in its entirety
• Split the trip if the trip transits through domicile on or before the beginning of the
new contract month. You will need to notify Scheduling of your intent to split off of
your trip prior to the 5 th of the month prior to your transfer date.
You will be restricted from picking up a trip from DPU and ETB which continues into the
new month.
o
CLT/DCA/PHL to PHX: To prevent any flying activity after your transfer effective date in a
different scheduling and payroll system, a non-fly code will be placed on your line. This
code will automatically drop any trips in the month prior to the effective date of your
transfer that may touch that date. As a result, if a trip drops out of your line, you may
choose one of the following options:
• Pick up additional time throughout the month to compensate for this loss of time
via AIL or ETB.
• Choose not to pick up the lost time, and you will not be held accountable for low
block.
• Split your trip if the trip transits through domicile on or before the end of the
current month. You will need to notify Scheduling of your intent to split off of your
trip prior to the 5 th .
The non-fly code placed on the 1 st of the bid month concurrent with your transfer will
restrict you from picking up transition trips through AIL or ETB.
• Sick Bank:
o Flight attendants will maintain and continue to have access to her/his sick bank. Your
sick bank will transfer concurrent with your awarded bid month. Flight attendants based
in PHX as of DOS (date of signing) will continue to be eligible for STD for a period of
twenty-four (24) months. CLT, DCA and PHL flight attendants will not be eligible for STD.
• CLT, DCA, and PHL Bidding:
o Opening and closing dates for all primary, secondary and reserve bidding may be found
on Wings at http://wings.usairways.com/uswings/workgroups/inflight/linesandpairings.
• PHX Bidding:
o All Bidding Opens on the 13 th at 0900 Closes on the 17 th at 0900
• Cargo Provision
o “A flight attendant transferred from one domicile to another at her/his own request or a
result of a priority return will bear her/his own expenses, except free available space on
Company transportation facilities for shipping of personal belongings shall be furnished
to the extent permitted by law.”
A flight attendant may ship personal belongings consistent with the following guidelines:
• Shipment must meet the weight and size limits for the type of aircraft we
operate on the route
• Personal items must be packaged properly and cannot contain any
dangerous goods
• Cargo shipping is intended for personal belongings, and not for the moving of
households
• Leave of Absence:
o CLT/DCA/PHL to PHX: A flight attendant on a leave of absence will have his/her request
to transfer processed during the transfer award and upon release will report directly to
the PHX base.
o PHX to CLT/DCA/PHL: A flight attendant on a leave of absence will have his/her request
to transfer processed during the transfer award. Upon release, the flight attendant must
attend any required regulatory training (A330, E190, IST,B767) prior to returning to the
line.
• Additional Information: Additional information as it relates to either East or West flying may be
