on Wednesday 18 th May 2011 (1000-1530hrs) and the

2011 sees the launch of
The RAF Factor, a Service
wide singing competition
and live music festival.
The competition
element of the day
will be kicking off in
April with the first of
a series of six regional heats to
be held at RAF Stations around
the country, with an additional
heat being held at RAF Akrotiri.
The winners of each heat
will be invited to partake in
a summer boot camp where
performance advice and training
will be given. The boot camp
will culminate in the semi final
show where the final ten acts
will be chosen to go through to
the grand final at RAF Cranwell
on the 3 rd September 2011.
Due to logistical problems
the winner of the Akrotiri
heat will automatically go
through to the final.
The competition will
be open to over 18’s
who fall into one of the
following groups:
• RAF personnel
• Dependants of
RAF personnel
• MoD civilians working
at RAF Stations.

As well as individual artists
and singing groups the RAF
Factor is looking for bands
to provide music during
the day and in between the
competition acts. If you are
involved in a band and would
like to perform on the day

in forming part of a dance
troupe to perform before and
during the competition please

The day itself will be open
to the general public and as
well as the music side of the
event; displays and exhibits
from the service community
and local area will be on show.
