PRACTICE EXPERIENCE<br />
Amit Dhume’s practice focuses on mergers <strong>and</strong> acquisitions, funds, corporate<br />
finance <strong>and</strong> regulatory <strong>and</strong> compliance. Amit has advised on Initial Public Offerings<br />
of companies <strong>and</strong> business trusts as well as on issues relating to regulatory approvals<br />
for investments. Amit advises on investments into India <strong>and</strong> matters relating to Indian<br />
law especially in the areas of corporate <strong>and</strong> financial services.<br />
On the regulatory <strong>and</strong> compliance front, Amit has assisted listed corporations <strong>and</strong><br />
real estate investment trusts on their continuing compliance obligations. He has also<br />
assisted financial institutions to set-up securities business by providing inputs on<br />
regulatory <strong>and</strong> compliance matters. He works closely with fund managers to assist<br />
them to establish funds <strong>and</strong> fund management companies <strong>and</strong> offer the funds in<br />
various jurisdictions by working with local counsel.<br />
Amit was previously an in-house counsel to one of the leading cash <strong>and</strong> derivatives<br />
broker-dealers in the Asia region <strong>and</strong> has expertise on issues relating to the<br />
derivatives <strong>and</strong> broking industry in Asia.<br />
In addition to these core areas, Amit is involved in advising clients on general<br />
corporate matters.<br />
Amit was designated a Sheridan Fellow by the National University of Singapore in<br />
2004 <strong>and</strong> was awarded the faculty graduate scholarship.<br />
