Title of proposed Master Thesis:
As an undergraduate student, I still can’t forget the classes that I enjoyed attending & studying
their contents in the field of Veterinary Medicine & Animal Resources in King Faisal University, Saudi
Arabia. My love for this field is reflected in my Very Good; 4.09 out of 5.00 GPA. It made me so
ambitious for a Master degree in Biotechnology & made me apply for a scholarship. Fortunately, I was
given this golden opportunity; the scholarship, and don’t want to waste time & not apply immediately
for the masters degree. My scholarship includes coverage for ESL study, which, I am confident, will
be a great place for me to improve my ESL proficiency. I request to be admitted provisionally so that I
can improve my ESL proficiency at a language institute or center that you recognize. I have not taken
the TOEFL or the GRE tests until now as I plan to take them when I start my study at your school. I
have selected the fall 2008 semester because it is required for me to get an admission for this semester
in order to qualify for the scholarship. However, my sponsors and I understand that my ESL program
will take a minimum of one semester so that I can be ready to join the Biotechnology program.
Therefore, I hope to be admitted to your school to begin my ESL study in fall 2008.
As different Saudi institutions decided to enhance scholarship program where students are
encouraged to attend US schools, I thought it was time to contact the school of my dreams. Your
graduates have always been a great source of fascination and wonderful impression for their excellent
performance, knowledge, and cutting-edge experience. Such distinguished alumni were evidence for
the quality of education that you offer to your students and I look forward to be part of that experience.
I am interested in studying the new trends concerning the molecular biotechnology including
cloning and gene expression and laboratory work in molecular biology/genomics, cell biology, and
proteins and proteomics which leading role in the greater integration of technology into medical field
and practice, and put the medical field on the map as a leader in the development of biotechnology.
I am confidant that my study at your school will allow me to lay the necessary foundation for
my expertise in Biotechnology and to channel my profound interest in that area. I hope, by joining your
program, that I will achieve my professional career objectives and academic goals. My future plans
include coming back to Saudi Arabia for hands-on fieldwork as a biotechnologist and establishing a
career in research and educating people about science and biotechnology.
