Petrochemicals Processing and Catalysts
Introduction:
Refining Process Services have provided technical assistance and offered specialized
educational training programs to the worldwide petroleum refining industry. This brochure
presents information on our "Introduction to Petrochemicals Processing and Catalysts" seminar,
which was developed specifically for engineering, R & D, and operations personnel who have
limited experience, but who have substantial technical education or a technical operating
background. The program begins with an overview and progresses to a detailed examination of
the key elements involved in petrochemical production and catalysis. Aspects of safety,
environmental impact and future industry direction and developments will also be explored.
Special topics will be addressed including first-hand advice on catalyst loading, activation, and
safe unloading from commercial petrochemical reactors. Upon completion of this program the
participants will have a better understanding of the petrochemicals market, and the most
important and relevant process chemistry that is integral to this industry.
The program will also maintain a perspective on international developments in
petrochemicals technologies. The primary focus of the program is applied research and
development (R&D), including development related to localization and technology transfer. The
program conducts basic / fundamental research only if and when needed to support applied
research and development.
Who should attend
The program has been designed for:
All professionals involved in either the commercial or technical aspects of processes and
catalysts utilized in the petrochemical industry.
This program is valuable to engineers and industrial chemists working in chemical plants
or integrated petrochemicals/refinery complexes.
Topics:
Light paraffin activation (e.g. gas to liquid (GTL)
Selective oxidation, utilizing novel catalytic reactors such as membrane reactors for
selective oxidation and oxidative coupling)
Polymers (e.g., producing engineering and high performance polymers, polymeric
membranes, and conductive polymers)
Gas &Oil Processes
Refining Processes
Clean Fuel
Process Development
Lecturers:
All lecturers are working as professors in EPRI. They teach this course in Egyptian universities.
They act as consultants for petrochemicals and refining companies. They published more than
180 articles in international journals. They presented this course for Arabian specialists.
