Barge Trip<br />

On January 7, it was time for the amazing<br />
Year 5 Barge Trip! We went on a trip to<br />
learn about the Chao Phraya River and its<br />
uses.<br />
Before we got on the boat in Bangkok we<br />
met the barge crew - Mr Craig, Ms Erica<br />
and Mr Tee who told us the safety rules. On<br />
the second day, we woke up at 6.30am and<br />
were treated to some hot chocolate. The<br />
boat was not moving yet, but I saw a<br />
wonderful temple with a big golden Buddha.<br />
We went swimming and canoeing; it was the best day of the trip. When we got in the water<br />
it was FREEZING!<br />
On our final day, we went shopping for breakfast at the market and it was fabulous. At 9am<br />
we bought souvenirs and I got a badge and a key chain to remember the trip.<br />
Over the three days, we learned lots about the river and how it is used, we even got to<br />
study the plants and animals that live on the river.<br />
I would definitely recommend the trip to next year’s Year 5s. We had a great time!
