Golf Professional
What was your motivation to become a Golf Professional
I just loved the game growing up. I enjoy the challenges of the job
and the people you meet.
What is your specialty in the golf business
My specialty is club repair. A few years ago I became friends with a Irl
Robinson, who has won many Professional Club Maker Awards, and he
has helped me grow to understand the profession. What I have
learned from Irl has taken my club fitting abilities to a whole new
level. Irl’s knowledge is that of a tour fitting professional and he has
inspired me to look well beyond the standard fitting cart.
What was your greatest moment in golf
Although I only have one Hole In One, I do have two Double Eagles.
What or who has had the greatest impact on your career
I have tried to take the best qualities from each professional I have
worked with to create my own philosophies. Pat Kelliher, Steve Belton,
and Bob Renken are just a few who I have had the privilege to work
with over the years. I think their business principals produce solid
results.

Besides golf, what else do you enjoy
I enjoy my family. I have a 5 year old and a 3 1/2 year old, both boys,
who I enjoy showing the world. Although, It is amazing the persective
of the world you can get from someone so young. I think they have
unkowingly taught me more at this point than I have taught them.
If you could play any golf course in the world, which one would
it be and who would complete your foursome
Of course you would have to go to the top, Augusta National. As for
my foursome, Arnold Palmer,Estel Baker, and Brad Friley. All
sentimental favorites.
If you could give lessons to anyone in the world who would it
be and what advice would you give
Tiger Woods. Anyone who knows me will tell you I have never liked
Tiger. But, my advice would be something I think he about to discover
on his own. (something I learned from my kids) If you look too far
ahead, too far into the future, you may miss what is here and now.
Changing swings and trying to get better all of the time has sent him
on a course backward instead of forward. Enjoy the moment more
before it passes.
What is your favorite golf instruction tip
Get your putter fit. We strive so hard to hit it longer, fitting our irons
and woods, that we overlook the most important club in the bag. If
you do not have your putter professionally fit then you are giving away
strokes.
