1950s
Sue (Patterson) Pine ’57 and her
husband, Robert, of Hot Springs, Ark.,
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
on Aug. 15, 2009, with a reception
hosted by family and friends. She is
retired from the University of Arkansas
at Little Rock, where she served as
director of admissions.
Robert W. Bohl ’58 was named the
chair of Board of Trustees at Princeton
Theological Seminary in July. Bohl is
a 1961 graduate of the Seminary. He
will serve as chair of the board for four
years.
1960s
Joe Baker ’69 was recently named
the local secretary (executive officer)
of Mensa of Memphis, Tenn., which
has approximately 300 members in the
region. He has been a member of Mensa
for 15 years. Joe is also a member of the
University’s Alumni Association Board
of Directors.
Alumni and their friends from the early 2000s recently had an informal gathering at
the Dallas home of alumni Paul and Jennifer Heimke. Among those at the event were

The Rev. Dr. Ralph Clingan ’63 and his
wife, Margaret, of Bloomfield, N.J., visited
campus in July. Rev. Clingan is a retired
homiletics and liturgics professor for the
Interdenominational Theological Center in
Georgia, and has written several books.
1980s
Jiwa “Ji” Mohd Isa ’81 is living in
Shah Alam, Malaysia, where he is the
director of business development for
Securities Industry Development Corporation.
He earned his Ph.D. from the
Manchester Business School in 1994
and a master’s in management in 1986.
Fred Romo ’68 was recently
named interim director of the Ozark
(Ark.) Chamber of Commerce. Fred
retired from Whirlpool Corp., as global
manufacturing manager in 2000 after 30
years withthe company.
1990s
Lance Spence ’91 was named the
new athletic director at Lamar (Ark.)
High School in August.
Claudia Cruz ’95 is living in Colon,
El Salvador, where she is corporate
communications manager for Cenergica-Nejapa.
She earned a master’s degree
in auditing and accounting from the
University of Barcelona in 2008. She
was recently appointed to the board of
directors of Glasswing, an international
non-profit organization that advises the
private sector on social investment.
Heidi Bidstrup ’95 earned a master’s
degree in kinesiology from Texas
Women’s University in May of 2009.
Geoff Levine ’97 and his wife,
Dara, of Knightdale, N.C., welcomed
new twin girls, Avery Caroline and Alexa
Lee, to the family on Oct. 15, 2009.
2000s
Davis Trousdale ’00 and his wife,
Kristen, of Brandon, Miss., welcomed a
baby girl, Jillian, to the family on Aug.
27, 2009.
Valerie McClaine ’02 married
Chris Kichler on July 25, 2009, in
Clarksville. The couple lives in Jacksonville,
Ark., where Valerie works as a
first grade teacher.
Jennifer (Byford) Fields ’03 and
husband, Chris, are living in Rogers,
Ark., with son Braxton. She works with
JB Hunt.
Jeremy and Alicia (Pruett) Proctor
’03 of Clarksville welcomed a new
baby girl, Hannah Elizabeth, to the family
on June 24, 2009.
Sam Fincher ’04 was recently
hired as a mathematics instructor at the
University of Arkansas. He earned his
master’s degree in mathematics at UA.
Christa Lanphear ’04 married
Gerald Williams on Oct. 10, 2009, in
