Our Advocacy Message
The burden of these simultaneous changes coupled
with a lack of investments/regulatory changes/policy
clarifications, now means that we are perilously close
to being unable to achieve government’s plan for long
term care:
» Unfunded regulations means non-compliance with the
Act
» Unfunded arbitrated settlements and WSIB increases
means layoff of staff and deterioration of services to
residents
» Inadequate capital renewal program means inability
to redevelop 35,000 B and C class beds and
inadequate living environment for residents
