Authors are requested to forward the title of their paper and submit a 200 word<br />
abstract, to the Conference Secretariat, for review by the Program Committee as<br />
specified below. Please indicate the appropriate session for your paper. Please use<br />
the abstract sample below as a guideline for preparation of your abstract.<br />
The Program Committee will make final decisions on the acceptance of abstracts.<br />
We intend to notify acceptance of abstracts not later than a month after deadline<br />
of submission of abstracts.<br />
Please conform to the following guidelines for abstract format:<br />
✧ Abstracts should be written in English.<br />
✧ Authors may either (1) send their abstract by E-Mail to elderly@ortra.co.il as a<br />
WORD ATTACHMENT, or (2) mail their abstracts on a diskette in WORD FORMAT<br />
to reach the Conference Secretariat together with 4 original copies. Material<br />
should be sent by Airmail in a padded envelope marked “DO NOT FOLD”.<br />

The official language of the Conference will be English.<br />

Accepted abstracts will be published as a Book of Abstracts, which will be distributed<br />
to the participants of the conference.<br />

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING<br />
November is late Autumn in Israel, with rain to be expected. Temperatures near<br />
the sea ranging between 18 o -22 o c during the day. Dress will be informal throughout<br />
the Conference.<br />
VISA<br />
Individuals from countries without diplomatic relations with Israel should write to<br />
the Secretariat, not late than three months prior to the Conference, giving their<br />
full name, date and place of birth, passport number and date of issue, flight number<br />
and time of arrival.<br />
CURRENCY<br />
The unit of currency is the New Israel Shekel (NIS), commonly known as the Shekel.<br />
The shekel consists of 100 Agorot. NIS 4.06~ approximately US$ 1. (March, 1999)<br />

TRAVEL, TOURS AND ACCOMMODATION<br />
The Organizing Committee has appointed <strong>Ortra</strong> Ltd., a registered travel agent, as<br />
the official Organizer and Travel Agent for the Conference. Rooms have been reserved<br />
at the Renaissance and Royal Wing of the Renaissance Jerusalem Hotel, and Four<br />
Points Paradise Hotel, Jerusalem, at special reduced rates. Double and single<br />
occupancy rooms will be available. All guest rooms are fully air-conditioned and<br />
include remote control color television and international direct-dial telephones.<br />
<strong>Ortra</strong> Ltd. will offer pre- and post-Conference tours. Participants will be invited to<br />
make additional reservations for tourist services in Israel as desired, such as hotel<br />
extensions, regular tours, private car tours, car rentals, touring in limousines with<br />
driver/guide, desert trips, Jordan tours, etc.<br />
Airport Transfers<br />
Participants booked on the Conference Package who have notified the Secretariat<br />
of their arrival details will be met at the airport by <strong>Ortra</strong> Ltd. representatives at<br />
the “Tour Bus” counter, located in the Arrival Hall (after customs). Limousine<br />
