Year 9 Program 2013 - Diamond Valley College

Technology: Design & Tech Materials-DT09
This is a practical unit designed to enhance each
student’s understanding of materials, predominantly
wood and metal. Students will be required to select a
project and develop a design portfolio. This will involve
intensive research and the use of Computer Aided
Drawing programs (CAD). Students will need to
complete the process of investigating, designing,
producing and evaluating as required by the technology
study design.
Class Work
An investigation into materials - composition,
manufacturing processes, uses and
environmental impacts
A substantial and high quality project will be
completed by each student
Student evaluation of their project work and
associated production processes
